Yeah, the idea that you can buy them during the draft when people need to dump them doesn’t help one mid-season. So unless DL plans on including hand jobs, we don’t have any incentives to close deals. The same people saying it doesn’t matter that we don’t have any second rounders now are going to be the same people later rationalizing how DL couldn’t make moves because we didn’t have any assets.

Because teams in modern day basketball always prioritize perimeter/wings. What Shaq brings seem valuable to us but redundant to other teams. Not even the Knicks or Hornets would name a two way G leaguer their best perimeter defender on the team.
A second rounder that can be redeemed for a player is always greater than a second rounder you don’t have.
Sure, but picks in the 50's are worth way less than those in the 40's, and even less than those in the 30's.
