2020 NBA trade deadline discussion

I would actually lump Denver in with having a fighting chance as well. And who knows, maybe this team will regain the magic, but beating bad teams and losing to good teams isn't a recipe for playoff success.

Dat Clippers bench though - Lou averages 19 PPG, Montrezl 19 PPG, Morris at 20 PPG, even Thomas at 12 PPG. Add in Shamet at 10 PPG and Green at 7 PPG and I just don't see how we can compete.

I am very curious about "all of the assets" that we gave up for Conley.

Crowder was a toss in on the Iguodala deal. Allen doesn’t play at all. We’re hurt that we traded picks that will be in the 20’s? The Clippers have traded picks years in the future there is nothing stopping us from doing that.

Please, enlighten me on who we could trade for with those assets who would be better than Conley.

I feel like you guys will complain about anything. Conley fits our timeline better than any other available player out there. Mitchell and Gobert are going to get paid and his contract comes off of the books at the same time.

Worst comes to worst we have the most valuable expiring contract in the league next year. I hate how Ingles has been put on a pedestal on this site because of his story and how he is an underdog. He’s just as much to blame for our problems as any player on the team. He has been playing very bad.

Ekpe and Bogut would be aggressive. Don't hold your breath.

But temper your expectations. Signing one of those guys means waiving someone like NWG. It'd be foolish to draft a guy, wait two years, then finally bring him over and before you even get a chance to see him play or see what you've got, you waive him because you're being short-sighted. It'd be a huge shame to see him get picked up by another team and be a contributor and prove that we were right all along, and just gave up at the wrong time. That'd be foolish. Cataclysmically stupid. Ekpe and Bogut are out of the league for a reason. Why waive a guy who's currently in the league to pick up guys who aren't?
Sarcasm?

We should sign Latrell Sprewell and have him choke anyone on the Jazz who doesn't play aggressive.
Sprewell was a fine example of being a guy getting trouble off court, but ball the **** out on court. Could've been Josh Jackson

Based on what Conely is. I guess they could've gotten Ostertag, Pilacio, Howard Eisley. Any of those guys would help just as much.

Is this satire or something?

There were nearly ten better point guards in Europe last year than NWG. I’m curious if we even seriously inquired about one.

Atlanta gave up 1 first round pick that's likely to be in the teens of a very meh draft for a top 10 center Capela who's very much in his prime.

We gave up 3 first round selections for a top 10 PG Conley who's in his dawn years. The pick that we owed to Mem limits our ability to trade any first rounder to improve our roster for quite a while, and could end up landing a top prospect in a very deep draft.
