2020 Presidential Debates

Trump was strongest on law & order, calling out Antifa
At that moment Trump was given an opportunity to denounce white supremacist groups, he refused then started talking about Antifa as the problem. So not one of his better moments.
Unless he's a bully and a jerk who will fight for you. That's what got him elected in 2016.
But he’s not a bully and jerk who will fight for us. It’s usually for himself in defense of himself and self interests.

Well, the Green New Deal, open borders, socialized medicine, riots in the streets, and rewriting American history, while removing statues are socialist initiatives. The ones that go before Congress will get shot down though.
Can you point out a moment when US had open borders or a debate about OB policies? As far as I'm concerned, crossing into US at points of entry is pretty difficult. If it happens illegally, well, it's a problem affecting many countries (and needs to be addressed, including clearer migration policies). But you are referring to open borders as in the EU. Not the case.

Healthcare in US sucks donkey ***. My dad have had cancer for months. He is been unable to have surgery in US due to the prohibitive cost despite paying his taxes (his desease is not covered by insurance). And he is been unable to travel overseas due to covid restrictions placed on US residents. Hopefully, it seems he will get a humanitarian permit to travel to France and have the surgery with out of pocket money. I also lived in US and yeah, your healthcare system sucks.

Riots or protests?

Well, US history of racial inequality needs to be told in a way that allow us to understand it's roots problems.

Why people need to celebrate generals who fought over dividing the country for a cause as despicable as slavery?. Don't get it. I don't see that happening in other countries. Never.

This is what happened in the Republican primaries as well back in 2016. Trump was on stage with a row full of polished, polite politicians, and he starts making these bold, brash, combative statements. He interrupts people. Trump is a bully. He's a jerk. That's actually what a lot of people like about him. It makes him seem genuine.
I don't know if genuine is the right word. Trump came on at a time when people were really sick of the same **** from "politicians" and his brashness said "I'm not a politician and I will stand up to them and not accept their ********" and he rode that wave into the white house.

There is no possible way Trump can be considered to win a debate where he endorsed a white supremacist group (the Proud Boys call themselves Western Chauvinists, which is in no way better than just admitting they are white supremacists) and called on them to fight on his behalf.

And if the proud boys are standing by, well stand by to stand by you piece of **** mother ****ers, because decent Americans are also standing by. Stupid ****ing name, btw.

Really, why bother having two more debates?
This. Each one will be exactly the same, probably with just about exactly the same stuff said in the same way. We learned everything we need to know here, and it was just exactly what we already knew. In short, america is ****ed up the ***, completely sans lube, and we're not even getting a quarter for our trouble.

Only two of those things are being promoted by any Democrats t all (the Green New Deal and removing statues), and neither is a socialist initiative.

Some Democrats genuinely want socialism, just not enough to get more than an odd Congressperson elected now and again.

Were I to say that some Republicans want to arrest most of the Democrats for pedophilia, just not enough to get more than the odd Congressperson elected now and again, would you feel that is a valid criticism of Republicans generally?

I didn't watch the majority of the debate as I had more important things to do. What I did see really frustrated me. Both candidates have "plans" to fix various issues but neither ever explained anything. Most of the time they didn't even answer the question asked of them and just said what they wanted.

Right now the SCOTUS is a hot topic and Biden really irritated me when asked if he supported the call by House dems to stack the court if Trump's nominee is confirmed by the Senate before the election. To me this is a huge deal and I want to know where he stands on the issue. He literally said "I 'm not going to answer that". Why not? You keep saying let the American people decide. You're not giving anything to help them make a decision.

Trump is the anti-politician, sent to disrupt the political establishment in Washington D.C. and expose the biased and fake media. It's unusual, but even though he's the incumbent, he still gets to play the role of the outsider and challenger. A lot of people are really offended by his crude demeanor and bully attitude, but he could very easily be re-elected.

The problem with Biden is that he's old, he's listless, and he's wishy washy. Trump is very beatable, but I'll be surprised if Biden wins. Biden is precisely the type of run-of-the-mill career politician that Trump likes to destroy. Biden is similar to Jeb Bush and John Kerry. These types of insipid politicians normally lose presidential elections.

I haven't paid much attention to the Proud Boy movement (dumb name by the way) so did a little reading. The little that I did know about them I was surprised to learn that the Proud Boys president is a person named Enrique Tarrio . He is Afro-Cuban.

I don't think it is common for white supremacists to put people of color in positions of power within their own organizations. Tarrio is also the Florida director of Latinos for Trump.

The basis is he was far less coherent on recent interviews. 2 million covid deaths? Serving for 180 years? He would have let something like that slip in 90 minutes. He also would not submit to a drug test.

Misremembering numbers is not the same as being incoherent, and when have we required drug tests of any Presidential debater? Did Trump have a drug test and make it public? If not, why aren't you saying this about Trump?

Well, that depends on what those people of color believe about the relationship between black people and white people.

However, the Proud Boys are not as overtly racist as some of the other alt-right groups.

This changes everything. Let's disregard what all top US Intelligence says about the Proud Boys because they have some nonwhite people in their organization.

I'm not disregarding anything. I was just surprised that group which are referred to as white supremacists have a person of color as their leader. Can you imagine the KKK having a black Grand Dragon?
