LolThey can always print more right, I hear that's pretty in vogue. Or do we now care about the budget since Trump did it?
When AOC gets in I'm sure she can steal 1 trillion from Bezos, Cook, Musk, and other top dogs.

It would have been fine.
You have misunderstood me apparently. I see it as a win for Trump just like you. Where I disagree with you is A: I think while it's a win for Trump it isn't a win for the GOP as they did nothing. And B: I don't see what the Democrats could have done.I don't want to take that stance at all.
Let me give some context here.
I have a FB friend who I worked with in the Navy. He's a black guy of Dominican descent who now lives in Jacksonville, Florida. He posts on FB A LOT and has a lot of people who respond and/or comment. He leans Republican by a lot, but has been very critical of Trump and has been very supportive of Black Lives Matter messages. His response yesterday on FB: "Wow. Trump actually looking very Presidential."
At transition at work yesterday the offgoing shift, as I was ongoing, is a bunch of Trump supporters and hard core conservative/LDS types. I usually move away from them when they start talking conspiracy stuff or politics, and I did that yesterday as they had a little pow wow to discuss these executive actions. But not far enough away for me to avoid overhearing how wonderful Trump is for trying to save the economy and help the American people and how dumb the "do nothing Democrats" are.
So this has been me saying Trump scored PR points. I honestly find it bizarre that you and Zombie don't see this as a PR win for Trump (not surprised that Thriller doesn't). I'm surprised you guys are challenging me on what I've said. I didn't say I'm on the Trump train now. I didn't say this was a great thing. I've been talking about how this looks and how this plays in public. This has absolutely been a win for Trump.
Democrats should have compromised until they got something. If it was less than what they wanted they could have said so. That would have been on the GOP. But they walked away with nothing as the unemployment kicker vanished all together.
Not one of you dudes complaining about printing money has any basic theory about what money is. Y’all totally dodging my questions on this.... but never fail to get back in this thread to spend more time moaning.

I’m not saying printing more is a good or a bad thing. But I can you why the last relief package was good, and why reasonable people could have expected that that relief package + good leadership on controlling the virus might’ve resulted in the first stimulus bridging the gap between the shutdowns and a 90% economy. Guess we just didn’t have good leadership so we’re in this **** situation, eh? I can also tell you that we’re now in a lose-lose situation: the economy will be damaged either way. The people moaning about printing more relief for people on or beyond the margins seem to have starkly different priorities than I do.A government backed medium of exchange. You don't need a masters in macroeconomics to know printing too much will lead to hyper inflation. The signs are already there in housing, gold prices, and a totally disconnected stock market. Housing prices are up 59% since 2012. It's hard to see a good end to this scenario and you know what happened last time.

Why U.S. Housing Bubble 2.0 Is About To Burst
Back in June 2019, I published a detailed Forbes piece called “Current U. S. Recession Odds Are The Same As During 'The Big Short' Heyday.”www.forbes.com
I mean I more or less said in the original post. The bill would have been laughed off the Senate floor and was beyond redemption. The fact there was Senate resistance against even a 1 trillion package tells you the HEROES would never stand a chance. Pelosi also said last week she would not settle for less than 3.4 trillion. If the Dems and Republicans fail in a crisis, maybe executive order has to be done?
States can't print money. And Trump has promised to make the payroll tax cuts permanent. Which will kill Social Security. Just kill it, period. As well as unemployment. They can always print more right, I hear that's pretty in vogue. Or do we now care about the budget since Trump did it?

Our military spending is a total **** showStates can't print money. And Trump has promised to make the payroll tax cuts permanent. Which will kill Social Security. Just kill it, period. As well as unemployment.
And, no, I honestly don't give a crap about the federal budget. Hey, maybe the good thing about losing our place of prominence in the world is that we can cut our military spending down to, say, only $80b more than the #2 country - that would mean we had sliced our defense budget in half.

It's like Hydra, in nail form.A person with a house full of hammers eventually wants to pound a few nails.
Unfortunately we live in a world where pounding a nail for the hell of it causes two more to pop up.
