2020 Presidential election

Yeah... not really a fan of that. Probably not a great reminder to a lot of voters. I do like all these respectable republicans speaking out on behalf of Biden and the Democratic Party. I like Powell.
Really on brand for the democrats to invite one of the salesmen of the Iraq war to give a speech at their convention. I guess George Bush is next?

If it expands the tent to where we can kill Trump in the electoral college? Absolutely. I don’t want 4 more years of this reality tv show. This election isn’t about ideological purity or judging the Iraqi War. It’s about saving our democracy by ridding ourselves of Trump. If inviting Bush and Cheney on would convince more voters to vote for Biden and not Trump, then do it! Trump must be defeated

Why are you guys, you know who you are, bringing up Trump non stop when we are talking about Biden? Because you know Biden is a dumb *** failure also? And the only reason you are supporting him is because he isn't Trump? I'm not voting Trumpo 100% but I also have 0 desire to vote Biden or Harris.
I haven't done much praising of Biden. He was at the bottom of my list, except for Bloomberg. But I have said that I would vote for a a litteral bag of **** before I'd vote for Trump.

I think the dementia **** is WAY overplayed. We'll see. Either way I'd take Joe with Dementia over Trump with stupidity, narcissism, racism, misogyny, delusions of grandeur, bravado, bluster, and did I mention stupidity?

Unbelievable. Or is it, really?

“I distinctly remember an incident at the Southwest border. We had a case where we had a number of migrants charging a border station. Now what normally happens is border patrol has to do crowd control measures to protect officers on the line so limited tear gas was used to make sure that facility wasn't charged," he said.

"When Donald Trump saw that on TV, he actually thought what we were doing was starting just to gas migrants across the border as a tactic. In fact, he immediately called the secretary of Homeland Security to say, 'This is great, I love what you're doing, keep it going.' He thought gassing was a policy when really it was a safety measure in that one moment for officers."

"I think that tells you a lot about the President's character," Taylor said. "And that's why I think this is a character election."

Reagan's infamous question was 'Are you better off than you were four years ago?'

Four years ago, I wasn't wearing a mask just trying to pump some gas. My job is less secure now - I've been lucky and we weren't hit as hard by the downturn, but fiscals have been soft. I didn't have to think about how I would possibly have to manage kids at home instead of school.

My 401k is still solid - not as high as it was back in January, but has crept back up. Don't need a home loan but know rates are at historic lows. Not everything is a mess by any means.

The reality is that America isn't better than we were four years ago - we are more polarized and looked at in disdain by the rest of the world. And regardless of a person's personal feelings on the matter, when **** rolls downhill, you have to look at who's at the top of the food chain and make a choice for change.

That's why I'm voting against Trump. Biden might faceplant and not be any better when I re-evaluate the field again in 2024, but he's the best choice for this moment - and this moment is all that matters.

I agree with most of that, other than the fact I cannot in good conscience vote for Biden and Harris. So I'll go 3rd party or just not vote for Pres.

I feel ya. But this is probably the time for a “broad tent” message. Coalition politics is a different phase than governing politics.
I understand the idea behind it, but I think it's possible to have a broad tent message without including the architects of one of the biggest disasters in US history.

I also have my doubts that the overtures to neoconservatives in the campaign aren't going to bleed into the governance of a Biden admin, especially as they look forward to 2024.

I’m totally with you on the hesitation and doubt. Thats why I’m barely paying any attention to these shenanigans. I do think the dems can bring some of the middle over, though. And maybe the progressive wing can capture some of the disillusioned protest voters as well.

This is a fair criticism and definitely a legitimate concern. Which is why unlike 2009 when we just swept everything the Bush admin did under the rug, Trump’s administration needs to be prosecuted. there needs to be consequences for the GOP this time. And the Democratic Party needs to fear its left flank if they fail to do so.
