You said having them play 48 minutes a night. That wouldn’t be the minute distribution with eight players.

Why couldn’t they handle that? That’s 30 minutes per player.
That’s what normal playoff rotations are anyways.

But what about a matchup you'd rather prefer the backup to go against? Say you need your perimeter lockdown that's a backup to guard LeBron because your superstar has bad defense? What if you want to switch up rotations?
Oh you’re talking directly about the sim. I was talking real life. The sim you can put 30 minutes on 8 players it doesn’t matter.

Part of the problem is rotations. I’m sure Sims will just bench all 5 ppl at once if it’s a 30/18 split.
You can put rotations on the sim as well.

Nah. Players can sub in and out at specific times of the game. Fatigue is also a factor. If a player has lower stamina he'll get subbed out more than likely. If you're playing your starters heavy minutes though they may be gassed in crunch time. Pace also will play a factor in that.
