2023 annual Jazzfanz all time NBA draft

Is Nic Cage a good actor? That’s a great discussion and I would certainly lean toward yes given his body of work and argue that most of his bad films over the last decade or so are due to crappy scripts and needing the money. But Adaptation, Lord of War, Moonstruck, Raising Arizona, Bad Lieutenant:…, Leaving Las Vegas, Con Air, The Rock, Joe, Pig…

There are probably another dozen quality films (with Cage performances) I could name too. The guy is weird af but fascinating as well. If you’ve not seen Joe, see it. It’s a better version of McConnaghy’s Mud.

Well, I can at least be quick about it.

I guess I'll take Shaq? That's my 90's drafted player. Hopefully we can adjust the year later, if needed. But for now I'll take 99-2000 season.
29.7/13.6/3.8 with 3 blocks, an MVP, and a FMVP

Probably not the best pick, I'm out of my depth.

@LogGrad98 is next.
My pick came down to Him and Bird, Bird I think would be more fun to build around so I picked him.
Cause he's a PG who's not a good shooter. Modern NBA watchers place a high importance on shooting ability.
Maybe if he’s Ben Simons, Magic would still shoot it and didn’t miss much in the clutch plus he made everyone around him better shooters.
Do they? I can think of some very good modern players who arent pure shooters
This. Magic was elite. He didn’t need to be a good shooter, but he wasn’t bad. That’s the most important thing.
In the case of this board, it's because he's not Basketball John.
I’ve always stated that John was the better pg while Magic is the better overall player.
There's a rule to prevent that.
Yes
Sir Gandalfe, I believe our colleague LogGrad is just speaking in jocularity. He shall choose soon.
This. He’s always trying to get a rise out of me. We will know in two hours though. Lol

I generally love his movies.

I liked "Leaving Las Vegas" and "Valley Girl." Never saw his remake of Bad Lieutenant, but the original with Harvey Keitel was quite shocking.
