Mitch Richmond- 88 //Jrue Holliday
Derrick Rose- 08// de’Aaron Fox

Team L writeup

My opponent has put together a fascinating “Twin Tower” lineup of David Robinson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. I personally believe Moses Malone and Anthony Davis are sufficient to match them. Malone is the all time greatest offensive rebounder in the NBA and smoked Abdul-Jabbar in the 83 finals; Davis has both inside and outside shooting to plague Kareem/Robinson. Brook Lopez can draw Mutombo away from the net with his outside shooting. An exciting matchup.

Grant Hill is nice, but in such a competition Kobe Bryant will utterly destroy him. Kobe has a fanatical will to win. Paul George is an excellent player but Mitch Richmond should neutralize him. Speed kills, and my point guards, Derrick Rose and De’Aaron Fox are among the fastest of all time. I win in 5.

I like team d's players more individually but I'm concerned about the spacing with the starting lineup and bench. I would feel better about that team starting Tim Hardaway who I think was also a better player than Parker.

Parker gets a particularly generous bump from playing with greatness. Pretty sure he'd have a forgettable career if he didn't play on a perennial contender.

Team D would be awesome if they could swap some of that C skill for a top tier guard. Kareem (career GOAT), peak Grant Hill, & awesome guard might win it all.

Good match @David Hume you’ve got a fun team. I’m not surprised that it came down to the wire.

Moses “Chairman of the Boards” Malone is one of my favorite Legendary Era players. One of the biggest mistakes all time that the Jazz made was giving up his rights.

Coach, excellent match and congratulations on the victory! Your team is excellent and I appreciate your presence on JazzFanz. Yes, I share your sentiments about Moses Malone!

WTF?? Why?

It’s actually really pretty ****ing crazy. Read this:

"Going in, the Jazz did not know they were going to have to give up all those draft choices for me," said Goodrich. "They made a deal with a free agent that they thought would help their team. But the league, in an effort to discourage free agency - I'm not sure they'll admit to this even now - stepped in and awarded the Lakers those draft choices as compensation.

"It was a big settlement that New Orleans eventually had to agree to. But not until there had been a lot of behind-the-scenes pressure from the league.

"The truth is, there was no trade at all as far as myself and the Jazz were concerned. The Jazz signed me, and then the league demanded compensation to the Lakers."

Yep. The first blatant instance of favoring the Lakers, i.e. the big markets. Kind of doubt they would have done this with any other team. There was supposedly precedence set a few years before, but the details of that case were more that it was a trade rather than "compensation", but that is the flimsy **** the league leaned on to make this happen. And it was widely suspected at the time that the Jazz would end up with a very high pick, so this was really a known quantity. Imagine we sign, idk pick someone, Lavine or something, and we get a top 3 pick then the league steps in and forces us to give the pick to the Bulls as compensation for signing him. Seriously ****ed up ****. Wild west days of the league to be sure. How different would we have been if we got Magic, then added Malone a few years later or something. Wow.

Geez this is wild. Lol. I learn something new every year doing these. This is by far the most depressing thing I’ve ever learned. All these years I thought it was Wilkins and Magic. Now we can add Moses to that list of legends the jazz missed out on. Lmao
