2023 NBA Draft Megathread

nah there is only 2 really imo Sidy and keemosahbee are 2nd round fliers and we aint got any picks that late. not yet anyway.
France is a weird place with a lot of weird people, soshould they become residents of SLC they should fit right in
Sidy could definitely be a first rounder. He's one of the best defensive wings in the draft, 18 years old, great size/athleticism, and is still 18 years old.

One of the Locked on Draft (Richard Stayman) had him at the back end of his lottery in his latest big board.

Interesting. I am intrigued, but expecting late first is a good estimation as his actual draft ceiling barring some crazy athletic testing or combine king stock booster.

Babe wakeup... new Vecenie mock just dropped... highlights

Jarace up to #5 in Orlando

Black up to 7 with Washington... Vecenie shares my basically exact thoughts...

At the end of the day, I just buy Black being an impact player at the next level because of the way he impacts the game. He’s a monster defender both at the point of attack and as a switchable player up and down the lineup. Offensively, he puts pressure on the rim at a high level because of how quickly he can get downhill. But moreover, all of this is paired with terrific processing speed. He reads and reacts to what’s happening at a super high level. You see this most in his passing ability, when he hits the right guy almost every time while on the move. It’s not an accident that Arkansas is 15 points per 100 possessions better when Black is on the court versus when he’s off it per Pivot Analysis, and he’s the only player on Arkansas with whom the team is better both on offense and defense when he’s on the court. He makes his teammates better, and his presence helps his team. Teams are coming around on Black for these reasons, but he’ll need to prove that his shot isn’t entirely broken during the pre-draft process. The mechanics don’t look awesome, but he doesn’t seem to have bad touch. He’ll just need to show he can make improvement there, and he’ll go in the top 10.

Jazz take Rupert at 13... not a fan...

Jalen Hood Schifino goes at 14... the highest I've seen him.

Jazz take Kris Murray at 16... with Sensabaugh, Hendo, Hawkins, Lewis, Whitehead, GG (I hate GG but would understand the pick at least) on the board... I would literally throw up if this happened.

Dereck Lively at 26... Filipowski on the board still. I actually am cool taking a center there as I think Lively has upside and is an elite rim protector. If we had Robert Williams backing up Kessler that's okay by me. Would like be happier to see Terquavion Smith or Leonard Miller here.

This is going to be interesting. Historically, Danny Ainge drafts 2-way players. Everyone on the Celtics plays defense. Everyone rebounds. Everyone moves the ball. Its going to be interesting to see how Ainge looks at Jett Howard and possibly Sensabaugh as well. Right now, Jett doesn't mix it up and compete for rebounds. He plays some positional defense, but doesn't always give total effort on that end. I wonder if that means Ainge won't draft him.
He shipped out Beasley at the first opportunity for a bag of Dorritos. I think that is probably a clue. Danny wants length, athleticism, and grit. Taking a flier on THT like we did is likely a pattern as well.

I actually remember a few jazz fanzers who wanted us to draft him.

I loved Giannis. Still remember that DL was one of the first NBA execs to go over to watch him in person. Thought the Jazz were for sure going to draft one of the high upside Euro prospects that year.

My favorite five players that year were Giannis, Steven Adams, Rudy, Dennis Schroder and CJ McCollum.

I was so pissed that they traded both picks to move up for Trey Burke (who was one of my three least favorite players that year) and then really excited that they moved up to snag Gobert.

I was pissed we moved up to draft burke as well. I wanted McCollum. I also liked schroder.

I was listening to the draft on the radio while i was camping. That trade to take burke (who i thought would be horrible) ruined my camping trip

Same here. I remember watching the draft that year on the treadmill, and fell off it when they announced Burke.

A first rounder a bag of Doritos?

The only clue Danny has given us is that he values first rounders.

THT really not a clue. He was just available talent that could be matched for Beverly.
