i've cooled on walker quite a bit just the last few weeks. just doesn't do anything most games. sorta passive, struggles to create with the ball in his hands, his shooting (both from three and the FT line) is suspect, etc. not sure i'd take TH over all those guys but he's absolutely in the conversation with Cam, Black and George - I'd take him over Wallace and NSJ without batting an eye.

I can't remember a draft where I was so wishy washy over so many players. One game a guy looks great and the next game he does almost nothing. So many guys are in that possible lottery group but pretty much no one is creating any kind of separation. Sidy and Hendricks may be the guys that benefit the most and jump into the top 10 when it is all said and done.

The not having a pick next year makes me think along these same lines.

Dudes on rookie deals are so valuable. Not ideal having 3 in the same draft since that causes problems if 2-3 really hit with cap/salary implications at the same time but a great problem to have especially vs less dudes overall.

okay, so start paying more attention to kobe bufkin. turns out despite being a sophomore, he's younger than his teammate jett howard and has been a better player. i've dismissed it mostly because i assumed he was older, but learning that he's younger is a bit of a game changer. really the only thing jett has on bufkin is their listed size, but i think (total guess) they will measure within an inch or two in terms of wingspan. bufkin is the better athlete and his production has been superior to howard.

i'm not going to say he's a better prospect - yet - but if jett is a lottery pick, bufkin at least has to warrant late first consideration.

It also gives us a long window of having a very positive cap situation. I think we pick 3 as well, and if we move up we might even use some future picks for that.

This draft is key, then its more about the markets going forward.

Jazz really only have 6 bonafide NBA rotation level players. THT is kind of a wildcard if he can make some scoring/shooting consistency leaps. It could be 5 if we can't re-sign Clarkson and it could be 4 if we decide to waive KO because we decide he isnt worth his 12 million per year contract.

The Jazz have a lot of room on the roster.

I like Lively, in the late first round it would be nice value, but you are almost guaranteed to never maximize Lively because he would never get enough minutes. If the draft is zapped of 1st round quality talent and Lively is the only prospect left that is that quality, you should probably look for a trade.
