Oh ****. Cy is able to hack accounts and he’s posting crazy hyperbole takesI think he goes anywhere from 6-8. Houston at 4 is a dark horse but that might be pushing it.

Oh shut up. I don't have any hyperbole takes in hereOh ****. Cy is able to hack accounts and he’s posting crazy hyperbole takes
The rumor from Rafael Barlowe was that the Jazz could draft Coulibaly at #9 and still find a point guard at #16, which is true. Of course, the Jazz could take someone else at #9.
Bilal at 9 is a good pick. All the high upside guys will be gone. You might have your choice of Black/Hendricks, but they aren't all-star level prospects. Bilal probably not an all star either, but he plays a more valuable role than Black or Hendricks. He also has youth on his sideThis clearly sounds like a smokescreen. It might spook some teams to do stupid decisions that actually like Coulibaly. I mean, Coulibaly seems like a great prospect but 9 is definitely high in my opinion. Maybe 12 to 17 is a good drafting spot for him. I'm fine at 16 for him.
Nick Smith and Cason Wallace working out together for the Wizards.

omg I would riotImagine Cason goes 8th and we pass on Hendricks and Black for JHS.
Ya I really like wallace but I would definitely rather draft hendricks over him and would also have to take walker and ausar over him (though I wouldn't feel great about either guy)I love Cason and think he will be good. That said... if Ausar (I actually think he's the guy that falls), Hendricks, or Walker fall... draft teh effs out of them then hopefully Bufkin is available at 16 or we can move up to grab Black or Bufkin.
this. I also like george but it just seems like he wont be the dude we pick.I like George too. Just feel like there are better options at 9 and he might not be there at 16.

Josh Lloyd has Anthony Black falling to 13 on his latest mock.
He has the jazz drafting
#9 Cason Wallace
#16 Bilal Coulibaly
#28 Tristan Vukcevic
On Cason vs Black. "Defense is on par, shooting upside is higher"
Cason doesn't have shooting struggles. That is one of his strengths. For a guy with shooting struggles, Cason sure has a good looking stroke and a very quick release.
I think part of the issue with prioritizing a lead guard is that we used like a million lead guards last season (conley, naw, dunn, sexton, tht, and I feel like im forgetting someone) and all did well and we still have a bunch of them on the roster currently (tht, dunn, sexton) so we dont really need one. We didn't seem all that deep to me at the 3, 4, and 5 spot though. Hendricks could help there. Seems like last year we could plug just about anyone into the point guard position and they looked good. Maybe that is due to Hardy or something but Im just not concerned about point guard for the jazz.Personally I think drafting Hendricks over any of the guard prospects (Black, Wallace, JHS, Bufkin) would be a poor choice. If the Jazz did it though I would be pretty confident they see upside in Hendricks I don't.
I just hate the idea of a safe pick at 9. Hendricks NBA role just seems so rigid to me. I want someone who can really change the dynamic of the team that a potential lead guard would bring and I like all 4 of the options we could have at that position.
Maybe they go that route though and just take whoever is left of the four guards at 16, but if that's the route I'd rather take a higher upside and better fit with Bilal at 9.
For a guy whose strength is shooting his shooting struggles sure had lots of discussion. Everything I have read about in this thread is that he is a superb defender but his shooting is questionable.Cason doesn't have shooting struggles. That is one of his strengths.
Our lead guard play was pretty mediocre.I think part of the issue with prioritizing a lead guard is that we used like a million lead guards last season (conley, naw, dunn, sexton, tht, and I feel like im forgetting someone) and all did well and we still have a bunch of them on the roster currently (tht, dunn, sexton) so we dont really need one. I know you hate sexton but he played great as our starting point guard. So did Dunn. Im just not worried about the position. Hardy seems to be able to take just about anyone and make them look good. I mean no one thought anything of THT, Dunn, or NAW yet with Hardy at the helm they all looked like actual rotation players in the nba. And as you said yourself, conley was over the hill and had the jazz with the best record in the league through 13 games. Im just not worried about that particular position. Agree to disagree. Our lead guard play was pretty mediocre.
I love THT, but he is too risky to bank on. Same with Dunn. Sexton is a 6th man. The Jazz clearly need a higher upside guy in the mix who is more of a natural lead guard. The boost we got from a Conley despite him being over the hill should tell you how much we need someone who can develop into that and that player is currently not on the roster
