Where does ESPN have him? I don't have ESPN+ right now. Again, I think once guys like Smith, Whitmore and Whitehead have a chance to get some traction, Miller will be in that draft range. Maybe it's 6-8. I can't say Miller is a clear top-5 guy for me.

He's a nice player, but I think he's the off-ball, secondary scorer who plays off someone else. He might be really good at it. Think like a bigger version of Khris Middleton.

I think you have a bad habit of relying on player comps too much.

I'm trying to project the role and impact I think the player can have, and yeah, I rely heavily on existing players as a point of reference. I'll put it this way -- I don't think Miller can run a team, or beat good defenders off the dribble, or create good looks for himself in isolation, or put much pressure on the rim. Maybe I'm harping on what Miller hasn't shown he can do rather than what he has shown he can do. Dude can obviously shoot it.

Jazz need a guy who they can run their offense through. I don't think Miller is that guy. That said, he's still a top-10 pick.

He's the entire package. He has top 10 player in the league potential. Not saying he will get there, but that's his ceiling.

I don't think he's shown that diverse a skillset, and I'm obviously not as high on him as you are. Here's another comp I'd come up with in terms of role and impact -- how about a guy like Mike Miller. I think even that is giving Brandon Miller some benefit of the doubt, especially in terms of athleticism and being able to play off the dribble.

I dont do player comps. They are bad.

He's a 6'9 do it all versatile player and athlete who is also a shooter. His work ethic and the team he lands on will determine how far he takes his talent level.

i disagree there. i see him more as a haliburton type - not that prolific of a playmaker, but in that mold. he's come out early season as more of a shooter/scorer, but he's a much better playmaker/passer/lead ballhandler than he's shown so far - and perhaps than he will get a chance to show in his one season at bama. but he's a legit lead forward type and can play that role in the league.

hell, from what i'd seen of him in HS, i wasn't expecting much as a shooter/scorer. i saw a ballhandler, playmaker, rebounder and anything he could do as a shooter/scorer would be gravy. definitely not a mike miller type in my eyes coming out of HS. And don't get me wrong, i'm not saying you're wrong, rather just calling it like i've seen it.

From what I saw of Miller in HS (admittedly not very much), Miller was a skinny (180-lb) kid who tended to float around the perimeter and live on jump shots. He barely got to the rim, barely drew fouls, and barely tried to take guys off the dribble. He reminded me a bit of Ziaire Williams (Stanford). As he matures and adds strength, more of his game will emerge. I just can't see him as a lead point-forward or on-ball guy yet. I'm not sure he'll hold his ground against NBA wing defenders.

The shooting so far is a nice surprise though.
 
Another strong showing by Anthony Black. That's two straight games putting up 26 points and 6 assists against solid teams. Shooting splits are leveling out at 50/38/80. Big guard who can be a triple threat with the ball.

He is a beast. If he continues this level of play he is likely a top 5 pick.

Good to see..
I was pretty high on this kid before the season. He started a bit slow but seems to be coming on strong the past few games. I'd love to see a big 6'-7" playmaker type added to the Jazz.

If he keeps playing this way we won't have the chance to draft him though.
