So much of Bagley's success was just overwhelming college players with his athleticism.

Most of Flip success is off his size/coordination combo plus the threat of his shot (even though he has **** poorly, teams still definitely respect it)

Ralph Sampson... Modern day Kareem... KD stretched the **** out. Wemby's physical characteristics obviously make him unique... what about Flip makes him unique?

Olynyk, Markkanen, John Collins. Just about any face up 4 who is versatile. Plus the league is trending towards jumbo sized versatile players. The ecosystem of the NBA is more friendly towards developing but guys with these skillets than it was when KO or Lauri where coming up.

I don't even think he *has* to shoot it at that high of a level to be a positive player. He's a far better defender than he gets credit for and he's a talented passer and ball handler. I think more of his potential lies in improving his body.

Lauri had shown way better shooting than Flip in college... John was more efficient and a GREAT athlete. Kyle might be a sneaky athlete but not in Collins sphere as an athlete.

I'm just not buying what yall are selling.

Bagley scored so much more efficiently though. Bigs who don't shoot, don't protect the paint, and aren't able to switch well on the perimeter just have a tough time in the league.
 
I've just been reading his name as 'Flip' this whole time. Had a working at a burger joint joke ready and everything.


Oh wait, you guys are just calling him Flip. Dude should be flipping burgers!
 
as far as filipowski's shooting, he came to duke known as a big who could shoot. then he proceeded to shoot 27% from three. it's going to be very interesting to see what he can become as a shooter. he's definitely not a good long range shooter right now, but he's not totally a non-shooter either.

Yeah, Bagley was an animal at Duke and honestly he still kinda is at the NBA level inside the paint. Like I said, I think he’s just the most similar in terms of role/output even if the means of getting there are different. Not many 20 MPG offense first time bigs in the NBA and no that is not a good thing for Filip.

I agree with you here... for me its just that right now the other stuff is not good enough to justify using a first on him until the shooting is proven.
