2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Lol… yeah they gonna make 35m in NIL money.

Get to your second contract… if it’s max it might be like 250M+ the way the cap is headed. Also risking a guaranteed lotto spot for some small NIL money is insanely stupid. First deal is life changing money… second deal is generational wealth… but risk it cuz you can make a little dough in college. Risk is so much greater than the reward.

Now Kyle likely goes in the second round… so it makes sense for him.
Or get to be a top 3 pick and get an entirely different kind of team investment where you are more likely to get the 2nd max

So if you’re Cam you risk injury for the potential to go from like 4-6 for maybe a chance at 1?

No one with an ounce of sanity would advise him to do that.
I think I would if I liked my college situation. It's a unique opportunity given how weak the top of the class is projected to be.

Compare that to the risk he doesn’t produce much more than last year. That would TANK his stock.
Or he tears his Achilles and suffers a catastrophic loss.

Anyone projected top 10 that passes is being irrational.

Bizarre logic man
Is it?

Without looking at the current draft board if Cam is projected to go to the Orlando Magic at 8 is that a good situation for him? He just becomes a BPA swing on a bad fit with a team with better players at same position/style. It must be some sort of decision for him because he is taking his time to decide.

Nope… can honestly work against them sometimes.

Yes, getting to the 2ns contract earlier is a great potential career earnings boost, but you can also enter the NBA too early, look bad, and then all the sudden be looking at a mediocre 2nd contract.

Entering as soon as possible isn't the best option in every case even if you are projected highly.

Locking in life changing money and then struggling but still getting a second deal because you are young is a super ****** deal… ask Dante and Bagley about that.
