2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Really excited for more of the wild stats that start coming out this time of year:

“Only left handed soph with Dominican heritage to ave at least 8.8pts with over 53.7765% eFG and ave over 2.3 rebounds in draft history!”
You've got my ear... which prospect is this... I may blindly move him into my top 15

I have had this feeling for awhile that we are going to move up to 4 and last night I had a dream of that happening. Plus a team from 11-14 jumped up too and Dallas lost their pick to New York lmao.
Was there a churro or a Best Buy in the dream????

Anyone here listens to Locked NBA big board?

Locke had him saying the catch phrase “thanks for making the Locked on NBA big board your first listen of the day”

*facepalm*
Also the cheesy music and voice stuff they do. I think its awesome he's made it a success but man the production and marketing seems straight outta the 80s

BTW their latest episode had this guy from Mavs Draft on and he had Utah picking GG with the 9th pick.

I’m much more excited for that than Black, Wallace or Dick if I’m completely honest.

For those saying that’s too high, well do you honestly think he’ll last til the 16th pick?
Think there’s a strong chance he’s there. Not as strong of a chance that he straight busts, though.

We have to get a player at 9. The other picks can be swings for the fences.

Listened to this in the background. Might have forgotten some people/put them in the wrong place. Guys they'd consider at

9 - JHS, Black, Hawkins, Cason, Amen if he drops

16 - Brice, Jett, GG, Coulibaly, Rupert, Bufkin

28 - Max Lewis, Dariq (if he's there), Clowney, Sidy

There was a lot of discussion about JHS here. The one guy really likes him....but I think he's turning a major blind to the god awful finishing at the rim this season.
So was the sense that there’s no way Hendricks is available, or do they think it’s a bad fit somehow?

So one thing to note... I listened to these guys a bunch really early. They are BIG JHS fans. Been on him early and a lot of it is from HS stuff... so it could be insightful or it could be them just planting a flag on a guy.

I kinda get why people like him and it shows in the way they talk about him. He is very good in that mid range area, and that's often where you see the best players in the league excel. But he's missing all of the stuff besides the mid range game. He has Dejounte Murray's mid range game, which is nice and what I think they see in him, but is also missing the finishing at the rim, rebounding, defense, and passing. Leaves you with a very underwhelming player IMO.

I don't think they mentioned him at all, didn't mention Dick either. Weird that they mentioned Amen but not the other two.

I don't see Hendricks locked into #8 like others. I think there could be conflicting views on how teams see him.

Isn’t he a good defender though? I think that’s part of the appeal.

I get the feeling DA is more risk taking than DL..

I just think length and scoring. Locke mentioned on his latest podcast that DA likes scoring.

And at #9 if say Hendricks is gone, who’s he next best pure scorer?

I think GG could be the guy.
