2023 NBA Draft Megathread

The strength of this class is point guards
How many of the top projected top 10 picks are point guards?

Also, I would argue that point guard should almost always be a strength of any class as they are the most common physical profile of humans. When I walk around downtown of any major city I see a decent number of humans between 6 feet tall and 6 foot 5. I almost never see any humans taller than 6 foot 5 though. Good point guards are just easier to find. Again, we had like 5 of em last year. We can aquire point guards in many ways at almost any time. Bigger players are more difficult to get.

If you make a top 10 players in the nba list i bet not many of them are point guards. Steph and..... Maybe booker and doncic but to me those guys are really point guards like the guys we are talking about drafting.

2 point guards?

How is that awesome?

When you box them into both being PG’s I could understand how you would think it’s not awesome.

What I see is two 6’6+ players with playmaking and defensive upside. Can never have enough of those guys.

We need as many playmakers as we can get.

My Sexton hate has dialed back a decent amount. I think he is pretty good at what he does for what he is. I would be interested to see him as a starting PG to see how he does. IT was a bummer he got injured when he would have had a really easy post-lottery schedule to practice.

All that being said, every single thing we've heard has been Utah wants a PG and does not view Sexton as such.
I’m a fan of Sexton, but I’m pretty sure the Jazz don’t see him as a PG and are planning to trade him at some point this year. If they really want to move up for a guy like Cam Whitmore, I could easily see him being a part of that trade package to make it happen. . . which would likely pave the way for JC to come back on an extended contract.

Im fine with going point guard over big wing if there is a steph curry type point guard. A devin booker type point guard. A luka doncic type point guard. But if we are drafting more of a ricky rubio type point guard then no thanks. I dont want a floor general. I dont want a defensive stopper. If im prioritizing drafting a point guard then I want a dynamic one on the offensive end too.

I don’t really agree at all. We need someone who can set up Lauri and Walker. I don’t know how you can say you don’t want a defensive stopper after the defense we’ve had on the perimeter over the last few years.

Please, please let Ausur drop!!!!! If am at 9 and I had to choose between Bilal and Ausur. I would go with Bilal. But if the Jazz were in that scenario, then I hope..hope..that they could find a way to get the 10th pick.

If that happened and the Jazz "could" trade for 10 then, it would be - Ausur (Our PG of the future), Bilal (Our future Kwahid), GG (who knows but why not?!!! The Bulls had Rodman.) in my dream draft...lol. That's totally bonkers and insane if that happened. Wow!!!!!!!!

THT/Dunn/Ausur
Clarkson/Ochai/Bilal
Markkannen/Fonztechio
KO/Gay/GG
Kessler/Jones/Dok

Let the insanity happen!!!! WOW!!!!

Would likely lose Sexton, the 16th pick and gain Bertans. But that is not that expensive at all. Three superhcharged athletes who can play different roles. One can be a PG in Ausur. And we would have all those picks to for trades and building up. That team would probably lose alot next year with no Conley, unless Dunn reaches another level of suave or Ausur does something. But the next year...wow!
