2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I think the narrative is that he played on a super flawed team and plays next to Nick Smith who monopolizes the ball too much, and a bad shooting team to boot. Me personally I don’t know what to make of that just playing devils advocate. For that reason he’s not my first or even second choice. But at the same time it gives me pause because they’re not saying he’s an elite play maker for nothing right?
He’s not elite. He might read the floor better than anybody in this draft but nothing approaching the word “elite”.

Besides that the stats don’t tell a great story on Black, I just don’t see it in the film, either. I would hope highlights make me turn my head but his don’t for me. Sometimes people just have blind-spots on guys and maybe Black is mine because I really just don’t see it.

Maybe I’m interpreting what people are saying about him because I’ve felt that’s what everyone who has an opinion on him is that he’s the top playmaking pg in the draft.

Black has the highest IQ out of any player in the draft and I think his playmaking was even more impressive considering the system and personnel he was working with.

I think a decent like 50% type outcome for Cason is Pat Bev with all the dawg but none of the crazy. More playmaking juice I’d guess. Very valuable player but I get that we might want more… the Kentucky guard thing is what I subscribe a chunk of his upside to… I just think he’s a nice safe single/double that helps move the franchise forward.

Cason actually has some pretty elite stats. He came in at 3 on Pelton’s big board based on stats only.

Just like the opposite of the French League players I think the Kentucky guard thing works in his favor to me.

I love that the common knock on Tey Henny is that he doesn’t create right now.

If he could create today, was still the very high end shooter for his size/position and a fantastic all around defender with emphasis on rim defending…..HE’D BE THE 2nd PICK IN THE ****ING DRAFT!

If Anthony Black shot 41% from 3 on volume he’d be the 2nd pick in the draft. The list goes on and on.

Do people really not think the Jazz tanked to end the season? They just messed it up and should have tanked a week earlier plus they didn’t expect THT to blow up and blow the tank for two games.

Yeah, we tanked it. We also pulled off a few surprising wins against teams like Sacramento and Boston, which is why we're 9th in the draft order instead of 7th or 8th. It turns out that Walker Kessler is a floor-raiser.

You do have a point worth noting but there might be guys that can do that stuff to go along with athleticism and defense. For example, Walker
