2024-2025 Tank Race

Man its seriously looking that Atlanta is a trash team. With Spurs also struggling that could lead to two very high picks for Spurs in a great draft

I cant wait for the slobbering on how Spurs were these big brain geniouses and how they desiged this all along...

Hawks are missing like 5 of their rotation players. They’re alright and will return to mid. Trae won’t have to play against Bilal every night.

The problem here is they may not be better than Bulls, Horncats and Pistons. They won 36 games with DJM last year, and that was despite Trae having the 2nd best 3P% season of his career. Its not the offense thats their problem.

At this point it seems obvious Quin Snyder sucks monkey balls at setting a defensive culture and his schemes on that end dont work. Gobert may have been covering for his *** more than people realized.

Also btw what the hell is this years official NBA.com picture of Trae about? What are we trying to be here, subway bums?

Pistons nation stand the hell up and congratulations on the win

Their team looked like a legit nba rotation too

Cade - Ivey - Hardaway Jr - Tobias - Duren

Simone - Beasley - Holland - Stewart off the bench

I called this in the preseason, but they look like a real NBA team instead of the pathetic hot mess they were last year. They are not playoff bound by any means, but they arent gonna end up bottom 5 either.

They have also had one of the tougest opening schedules, so the 1-4 record is misleading. Like if you compare them to Atlanta who has had one of the most cupcake schedules:

Pistons 1-4 against: IND, @CLE, BOS, @MIA, @PHI - 1 double digit loss (@CLE) and one 10 point win (@PHI) with others being 6-8 point losses.
Atlanta 2-3 against: BKN, CHA, @OKC, WAS, @WAS - 2 double digit losses (@OKC, @WAS), one 2 point loss (WAS) and two 4-5 point wins (BKN, CHA).

We can remove CHI from the list. Currently ranked 3rd in the East after playing some good teams like the OKC/Bucks/Magic/Grizzlies, they are just too good to tank now unless they do an intentional tear down/shutdown. Or else they are guaranteed at least a play-in spot. Addition of Josh Giddey was huge for them.

I'd put Atlanta on the list. Getting swept by WAS is just not a good look. They aren't even trying to tank, as the spurs owns their pick. They are just bad and have a very top-heavy roster.

I'm not going to change the list after 4 games. We still have such a small sample size. The list likely will change, but after more like 20 games.

Por wins by 1 over LAC
SAS loses by 12 to OKC
CHI wins by 3 over ORL
BKN wins by 13 over MEM
DET wins by 10 over PHI
WAS wins by 13 over ATL
CHA wins/TOR loses by 5

Very good night for the tank. UTA is now the only winless team.

It would suck to have trae young as your max money star player leading your team.
Yuck.
