with the Jazz luck of the draw, they could wind up with a 99% chance and still lose out on the top pick.As long as we're top-3 bad we'll get our 14% odds.
This is the correct stance. Bulls have motivation to tank and if Lavines trade value recovers he will get moved prolly. They have enough functional pieces to work through that but it’s so early.I'm not going to change the list after 4 games. We still have such a small sample size. The list likely will change, but after more like 20 games.
If they wanted to tank they wouldnt be giving Buzelis 4 MPG. The Bulls are gonna Bulls, which means trying to win. This is the correct stance. The problem here is they may not be better than Bulls, Horncats and Pistons. They won 36 games with DJM last year, and that was despite Trae having the 2nd best 3P% season of his career. Its not the offense thats their problem.
At this point it seems obvious Quin Snyder sucks monkey balls at setting a defensive culture and his schemes on that end dont work. Gobert may have been covering for his *** more than people realized.
Oh they arent a threat to us. But they may end up 7th or 8th.Perhaps….I just never saw them as a real threat to our tank. Like CHI, they are not going to be a bottom dweller without injury or serious intervention from their coach. Unlike CHI, however, they have no incentive to tank.
ATL may have only one 36 games last year, but Trae+DJ was clearly a terrible fit and it definitely wasn’t Trae’s best year or even a good one for him. He was injured and by some metrics had his worst performance since his rookie year. They also won 41 the year prior with a similar roster. So unless you think John Collins was a huge factor for them, 36 was probably a low end outcome.
They have really bad injury issues right now and maybe that lingers all year…but I have a hunch they will go right back to where they belong, which is a mid team.
And thats such a red flag on Atlanta. I dont care who they didnt have for that game. They had Trae Young and Jalen Johnson, but still got blown out by a team whose only starting vet was Jordan Poole. The Wizards started a lineup with 3 rookies and average age of 20 years old last night. They are going to end up horrible still….but these moments have got to feel incredible for that fan base. All their young guys played great and carried them to victory twice in a row.
The Jazz will have their moment when they get a couple wins and regardless of the tank it will feel great if it comes from the youngins.
