2024-2025 Tank Race

Also not having Kuzma will help

This is me being a fanboy….but I’ve watched way too much Wizards basketball and this is 100% true. Not only do they lose Kuzma, but Bilal is literally the worst guy in the league when Kuzma is there and he’s pretty good without him. So it’s like losing two horrific big minute players and adding a decent one.

Out of 50 games, Jazz has played 21 games where all of Sexton, Keynote and Clarkson clocked meaningful minutes. Out of those 22 games their record is 4-17 (23,5% win rate)

Out of 50 games, Jazz has played 29 games where there were mostly two, sometimes one out of that trio. Out of those 28 games Jazz record is 8-21 (27,6 win rate)

Out of the twelve games that Jazz has won, only in 4 of them played all of George, Clarkson and Sexton any significant minutes
They only won 3 out of 12 if we don't count 13 minutes meaningful (one of the winning games Clarkson set 13 minutes,And I counted out one game where he injured and only clocked 2:46)

Make whatever you want about this.

Our record with or without certain players is difficult to draw conclusions from since we have generally sat our best players against the worst competition and played them against the best competition.

Out of all the jazz games this season they have been a tanking franchise. That is what I make of all that.
Dont think to hard about it.

I definitely have to give it to Ainge and Hardy, but at the trade deadline our tank has been a success, beyond what I predicted. I thought we would be in the 5th to 8th best odds, so 3rd is much better than expected.

We'll see how the end of the season goes. I expected to sell off more player and tank super hard to end the season. I still expect that we will sit players, but I'm wondering if we'll be a egregious as we were at the end of last season.

If we end up with lower than 4th best odds it will be disappointing, but compared to my preseason expectations, 5th would have been ok, and that currently seems like worst case scenario right now.

I think it's a particularly bad tanking year too right? We can't control how other teams tank, but at 12-38 you have to say that is a job well done.

Think Hardy has to worry about being the new Brett Brown, Brown could coach but got thrown under the bus when it was time to stop trusting the process and start winning. Winning habits cant be turned on and off.

That said, good day for the tank.

How bad is Washington? Can anyone think of a team that bad recently?

Yes, the Wizards. Last season.

You just won't believe all the incoming countusions and soft tissue injuries we will have.

S/O Portland. I thought they had a chance to be decent this year if they didn't make trades, but I didn't know they'd be this good. Won 10 of 11 and....not gonna jinx anything.
