2024 annual Jazzfanz All time jazz draft

This is wildly speculative. Do we know that the HIV ever affected him physically? He’s still ticking and looks like he’s 35 even today. Maybe he (and the team around him) just declined.
Huh? He literally stepped away from the game for 4 years. HIV did not impact him physically and he could have kept playing but at that point everyone was scared to death of playing against someone with HIV. His last season he carried the lakers to the finals and finished 2nd in the mvp voting so at that point we had seen zero decline from him.

I forget he stepped away. Thanks for correcting me.

Just took my older two to our HS track for a workout at 10am. It was pretty cool. As we were entering, Kenny Pickett was walking in (he went to our HS) with a couple of guys for a workout. One was Ayir Asante, some wr on the Giants who I imagine has no shot to make the team. The other was a college kid.

On the way out, I just said, “Mr. Pickett, good luck this season. Huge Eagles fans here!”

He was like, “Aw, thanks. Good workout, guys!” Pretty cool. My son seemed enamored with him.

That was a bummer because it was right when I was becoming a huge fan of basketball. With the lakers ability to attract free agents we may have seen the bulls era look a lot different. Magic probably had another 4 years of elite level play and I bet another 4 years high level play with his skillset being versatile.

Maybe he didn’t have HIV. Maybe it was part of Stern’s narrative. He needed MJ to dominate.

Because prime Magic is every bit as good as a prime Lebron for me. He was still firmly in his prime when he was diagnosed with HIV but even then he still won 5 nba championships and went to 9 nba finals in 12 seasons. He probably had another 4 or 5 elite seasons left in him as well. In the end you can't go wrong with either guy but I prefer Magic.
But he is from the olden times. He was only 6'3" and had only one leg and his stats were all padded by the teams like everyone did back then. How do you think Chamberlain got to 100 points? They counted every basket twice, duh! He really only scored 12 points. So you wasted your pick on an olden times guy that could NEVER play in the modern era. He would get squashed by 50 year old Brian Scalabrine, and be in one of his videos, and that would be in Magic's prime!
