Getting Embiid with the 10th pick is the reason why people are saying the modified snake draft doesn't really make sense.

The guy is never healthy when it matters. Voters likely ding the team for that. It also dictates the style of play when you have him and we saw how at times on stacked rosters (like Team USA) how that hurts the team occasionally. I think it’s pretty fair as there is a drop off coming in the talent tier in a couple picks imo. 7-10ish may have an advantage in this format but 12-14 would be hosed in the other format. I think it evens things out.

Yeah, I think the sweet spot is the 7-10 range. It's impossible to make it completely fair to everyone. I've just always thought of the modified snake draft as a way to make it fair when there is a Michael Jordan at the top and whoever gets that guy wins no matter what.
