2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Not to mention that aly Khalifa reminds me a lot of Jokic with the way he passes.

Actually I would love to see BYUs style of play more in what the jazz do. Great passing and shooting.
I guess the good news is that Jaxson is about to be tested at the highest level. It is also crazy that Khalfa was just sitting around as a spare bigman before the last 3 games. He's been amazing. Just needs to get into better shape (just like Jokic did.)

I could see Topic going #1 the way things are headed. He just needs his measurements and athletic testing to be 'good enough.' But a lot is going to come down to who gets the #1 pick and whether they think they're already set with their lead guard.

I don't mind Reed inside the top 10 of this draft. I think he might end up there.
If he is still shooting close to where he is and his stocks hold up I think he is a consensus top 8-10 guy. The shooting has to calm down I think unless he's like an all time great as a shooter.

Prediction... the #1 pick gets traded this year. Partly because its so fluid up top and partly because a team will be fine getting a mediocre asset to move down a few spots and not have to commit the additional salary cap dollars for the bet.

If I had the #1 pick and could move to #4 or #5 and collect a future first I think I would be inclined to do that. Save 3-4M a year, make a bet on a similarly rated prospect, collect another first.

Similarly... if the front office loves someone I think they should be able to move up for a reasonable price.

I see Risacher is still considered top 5 player in the draft. Has anything changed with him? Is he killing it in France? He didn't look like a 1st rounder in the summer.

Nah, just take Topic
If they loved him I’d be on board with that too. I just think if it still looks fairly flat in the top 4/5 that teams will be willing to trade back and some might prefer to have the decision made for them and get a tradeable asset and save a little money.

For us adding another pick isn’t as big of a deal since we have infinity but if it was a team that didn’t have a bunch of assets I could see it being a preferred route. Detroit, Chicago, Washington are all teams I could see doing something like that.

What’s jumps out to me on the Topic film is his footwork, especially around the basket. It reminds me of Dragic, makes it look so easy. My second thought is….who are these guys he’s playing? It looks suspiciously easy. His little fakes and feints are absolutely cooking everyone.

You watched Bilal cook the French JV league and you’re questioning Topic? How dare you.

Nah, it's a good league. A very big league too.
