What's new

2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

I think we will move up to 22. I doubt we sell off one pick for like 4-5 second rounders but I suppose its possible. I do think we would probably want to avoid bringing in 3 rookies... but if one was Carter then maybe we can tolerate a couple other new projects.
What's going to happen is we trade for an additional lotto pick to get Edey, use our 10th to get Carter, then move up to 22 to get Dadiet.

Yeah, that jumped out as a clear trade. Just wonder who has to be there at 22 for Utah to pull the trigger.
I don't think Edey gets past 19 and likely ends up higher... otherwise I'd say him. Wonder how hot Dadiet stock is? He may be there at 29.

McCain/Walter/Ware seem to have fairly wide ranges. Collier/Missi/Holmes maybe (based on rumors we want pg or center).

I'm like 50/50 but if someone wild drops which doesn't take a lot... then it would be good.

For once in our lives I think that would make both of us exceedingly happy.

That would be pretty sweet if it is Dadiet but he feels like a Masai player to me so I don't think he gets past 19.

15-17 is kind of the sweet spot I think to get the guy that ends up dropping (Topic, Dilly, Holland) or you might have a shot at Edey... it seems bigs drop a bit in some drafts.

In Vecenie's latest mock here are the picks 22-28

  • Tyler Kolek
  • Kelel Ware
  • Ryan Dunn
  • Kyle Filipowski
  • Isaiah Collier
  • Baylor Scheirman
  • Daron Holmes
Out of that list, I would say Ware/Dunn/Filipowski are the most interesting names to trade up for. I still like Collier, but I dont really want him on the Jazz. Ware/Filipowski are nice options for a developmental big w/ shooting potential. Dunn has my interest piqued again with the reports of his workouts going very well.

I kinda liked Flip last year.....but he was so poor at the basket and from 3. He's improved a bit in both areas.....but still not the greatest. I'd be OK with taking a chance on him. Defensively he's probably over hated because he has short arms + white....but he was pretty effective.
