2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

I see the appeal with Kyshawn George. Good shooting + ball skills at 6’8. Has decent stocks too. His lack of explosion is jarring though.
Maybe he can be a Joe Ingles type. I have him around 15 on my draft board though so I think we will have better options.

He’s definitely working on the finger roll game haha. I had a similar thought when looking at his goofy, ground bound off the dribble game.

His rim finishing is poor, a lot of those shots are self created….but still a big concern.

The lack of burst is a problem. The hope would be that he adds strength and can be like a Kyle Anderson-with-a-jumpshot. I do also think NBA spacing will help him. A lot of the teams that Miami faces seem to sit back in a zone, and there isn't much space for guards like him to operate. He's developing some craft to compensate, but the ability (or lack of ability) to separate is the main thing to watch with George.

This is from earlier in the week. I like that he's able to shoot off a few dribbles. That makes him more than a spot-up guy. But he's going to have to figure out what his strategy is going to be on drives. If he can't get to the rim, he needs to take a short pull-up, plan to use a floater from 5-feet or find ways to use the glass. Again, think Kyle Anderson.

in a stronger draft, he's well outside the top 10 imo, simply due to his lack of size and he hasn't shown a lot of playmaking chops (though, i like his playmaking and how it will project at the next level) like say trae young who would be a nice comp in terms of a small scoring guard. in this draft though, i think he has a shot at top 5. probably goes before Sheppard. dillingham would immediately be one of the top 5 quickest/fastest guys in the league.
He isn't huge, but he is listed as 6'3" (per Tankathon but slightly shorter on some sites) and he has certainly been trying to bulk up this year. 1709310579356.png

I’m 41. I played a rec league game where I looked more explosive at the rim. He’s a good late first guy based on my YouTube observations.

I hope George just stays in Miami. He just not ready for the NBA and if he comes over he is just going to be stuck in the G-League for at least 2 years.

Quick question regarding this draft. If say we won and moved up to the top 4 in the lottery, is there anyone you want bad enough to take this year with the top players looking like relatively unknown Euros or would you want to trade it for a high level starter and a future pick. I think I would trade it.

I’d see what the market is for the pick. It wouldn’t surprise me if a bunch of teams want to move picks this year. But I’d also be happy drafting Topic, Williams or maybe Sarr. Another dark horse might also be Salaun if he’s amazing in workouts.

Another option would be to see if the Spurs would want to trade up with us. We could take their two picks in the top 10 and walk out with one of the UK guards, plus a wing like Knecht, Holland or Salaun.

Moreike Atlanta Bogey
Wasn’t a comp cuz I don’t think he’s as big as our Bogey. Just the way he gets into and sets up his jumper reminded me of Bogey… just the vibe. Not lightening quick but just controlled and so balanced.

I remember atlanta bogey carrying that team in the playoffs, showing creation off the dribble and just some athleticism I didn't think he had.
Was amped when he went to Utah. Alas I never really saw the bogey I describe above tho still a fine player.
Players get their bags when they can as skill can decline any time obviously unless you're Lebron who I don't particularly like but man...
Anyway yeah would love to have Knecht

Atlanta bogey was never in Utah. That's Brooklyn/Washington Bogey.
