Kyle's career was suffering by his family going to media to publicize the story, not by his girlfriend.

The media even acknowledged this and reported that Kyle would have gone higher on the board if it wasn't for his family stabbing on the kid's back with the story.

All we heard is this very one sided story coming from his so-called “family”. Have we heard anything from his coach? From his teammates? Staff at Duke? From the kid himself?

Kyle's had two years of good college basketball in one of the best programs in the nation while dating this woman. His coach and teammates loved him and had never once raised any concerns over his character, academics, professionalism, etc. Even if he was “groomed” so what? It's not like his life ever gone dark because of it.

I know people from the outside world has mixed views on Mormon but I thought as Utah fans we should’ve known better.

Yeah, you have the timeline all wrong. He had already fell in the draft, the only reason why the family commented was because Givony was talking about it. The damage to his career had already been done. Why you decided to make up your own timeline? I’ve got no idea.

I mean, it is wrong, but he's an adult now who has all the power in the world to make his own life choices.

It's not the same as a rich older man seducing a late teens HS girl. It's a double standard, but it's one that makes sense. There isn't a power dynamic imbalance here.

As a guy from Eastern Europe who ended up in SLC 15 years ago, the Jazz have always been a safe place from having to hear both sides talk about Mormonism, hopefully this blows over soon haha

Thing is -- Jazz are going to have to tank a lot harder this year than last year. With the pick only being top 8 protected, we can't risk bad lotto luck bouncing us from 7 to 9 and having the pick convey to OKC.

Flip definitely went to the best team for his supposed situation. The rest of the media landscape will forget and some people in Utah will be happy he's a Mormon and the others won't care.

He said Flip fell because he was nervous/odd in interviews and FO’s thought there was something weird about his GF. Someone posted the soundbite on twitter, his brother + mom replied to this tweet and said this bitch is crazy and it’s her fault he fell. This idea that it was a hit piece against Kyle is off base.

IMO, it probably came off to NBA teams as if he had a crazy parent/controlling person in his life. We don’t know all the details, so I’m not going to jump to conclusions (although I do think 26 dating a HS kid is straight up weird on its own and it appears that he already knew her much earlier than that). I hope for Kyle’s sake that he’s all good and she’s not this crazy person controlling his life to his detriment.

Oddly enough, he went to one location in the NBA where this situation is accepted. Even if the family is telling 100% truth, it seems as though some here are OK with the grooming and glad it happened if it did. Welcome to Utah Kyle.
