2024 NBA Draft Reaction Thread

What are we all thinking about the fact that Filipowski had hip surgery a year ago? Do you expect his movement to improve as he moves further and further past that? Is it a cause for worry in the future?

Probably too much to ask for Flip to develop into a KO-tier playmaker, but if he did, and was viable on defense, that'd be very fun.
It wouldn't surprise me but it usually takes guys a decent amount of time to gain that experience to become a playmaking big.

I still think people get stuff really wrong on Filipowski. He was the best defender on one of the best defensive teams in college. He has the same stocks% that Taylor Hendricks had last year against better competition. He moves incredibly well for a guy who isn't considered athletic and is 7' tall. He's got a better handle than Lauri Markkanen.
Happy to sip kool-aid during the off-season but boy does this seem rosy for a guy that seemed to (really) struggle against NBA prospects.

I think he will be a KO level playmaker but just in different ways. I don't think he is as crafty/weird as KO. His playmaking is more conventional. He's going to use his ability to get downhill as a ball handler and grab&go type player.

And yes, a lot of that is going to hinge on his ability to shoot, but he's a tall white guy who is known to shoot, people are going to close out on him. He was a very good open C&S player at Duke this past year.
He’s more like Domas Sabonis without the strength and athleticism.

Before this season people were really optimistic that it was going to help him. He had a great season so I think it did help him, long term it might be cause for some concern though.
