If anything, I’m bullish on keeping Lauri Markkanen and letting him grow into the “top dog” franchise player role surrounded by a bunch of young guys - instead of just getting a massive haul of draft assets and young players for him from a different team. . . :)
 
Should Giddey be the priority with this cap space? He's a bigger PG and the Jazz need one to get Lauri back on track. Would the Jazz be too good if they signed him? What would it take for CHI to not match? It doesn't like they're close to the tax.
 
Now that I remembered the Jazz guaranteed Svi's contract I can pretty safely say they arent trying to get into the RFA market. Guaranteed 3.75 million on the books would be a boneheaded move if that was the intention. So I'll force myself to let go of the Giddey to Utah delusion.
 
I was just about to ask why they guaranteed Svi's deal is this was the plan. That nearly $4m could have been the difference if they really wanted Giddey.
