2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

What does Minnesota do this offseason. Cap situation pretty bad... definitely try to keep Naz unless he gets something ridiculous. Randle may give them a discount and opt out to get more long term money. They move Conley/Rudy/Donte to make the budget work? NAW definitely gone.

They look pretty rough right now. Think this iteration has hit a ceiling hard.
Sadly Naz playing like *** right now so they may be able to keep him.

He is one of the worst when it comes to trades and the CBA rules... like it makes me cringe sometimes.
It makes me think ****** things, like maybe his terrible mispronouncing of names isn’t actually a disability like dyslexia, like maybe he’s just bull-rushing all information a little too much and needs to slow down just a little bit.

Spurs might be looking at dealing two and more pieces for Giannis or 2 for Lauri.

Lauri is cheaper, a better fit, and younger on a longer contract.
Lauri’s also never won jackshit. The idea of Lauri is a poor man’s KD. Except that idea of him as the #2 (or #1 like KD) on a title team is really still just a dream.

Trading the #2 pick, who is just 19 years old and in many years would be the #1 pick, and who’s also on a super cheap contract for a 28 year old Lauri would be foolish imo. Especially considering Wemby’s health concerns.

Trade everything but Wemby, Castle, and #2 to get a piece. That’s what they should do.

I just sent Locke a message. Dude needs to brush up his knowledge around the edges. He keeps saying Lauri isn’t trade eligible until August. He was trade eligible as of February 7th.
I feel like I am one of the least informed jazz fanz posters on salary stuff and trade stuff and things of that nature and I knew he could be traded as of a while ago even if I didn't know the exact date.
Locke should definitely know that info.

Also, I think they lucked out with matchups in the playoffs and are fools gold being in the WCF.
Lakers were the worst team in the playoffs outside lebron and luka. They had the worst depth, no size, and worst role players and their stars have major warts with lebron being over 40 years old and luka fat and out of shape and playing the worst defense in the history of the league.
Then they get an aging warriors team that lost steph early in the series.

They got issues and Gobert and conley are only getting older. Have some pretty big contracts. The thing they have going for them is Ant being very young (and im high on Naz) and thats about it really. I guess donte d could still take a leap but I dont buy this T wolves team going forwards.

Who do you think Orlando takes with their late teens pick? Jase seems like a perfect fit, but he is small so they might fade him given their particular taste
I would hope they don't draft for current need but they also need shooters long term. McNeeley or Jase could be targets but its hard to say without knowing who is on board. Clayton, Fleming, Coward could all offer something there as shooters. I think the combine measurements will push him down a bit.

Good god, that tax bill...

Is there a way we can take advantage? Gonna have to think it over.

The Celtics need to split Jrue or Porzingis into several small contracts that the tanking teams with MLEs can absorb. The Jazz would then be able to absorb some of broken up contracts using their MLE.

Or the Celtics can trade Jrue or Porzingis to the Nets directly but the Nets may be able to extort them if the Celtics can't split these contracts into several guys. The Nets are basically the only team that can offer more than $14m in cap savings and Jrue and KP make over $30m.
