2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Yeah @Elizah Huge and I had some Phoenix deals with Walker.

#14 and the 2026 or 2027 Hawks pick for Walker and 21?

Oof....that's tough. Without Walker, we're basically starting from zero. I would probably not pull the trigger on draft night and hope we could find something similar elsewhere.

I really wonder if SAS is open to trading #2. Like would Kessler + #5 + #21 be enough for #2?

I mean if it gets them KD and they preserve other stuff maybe.

I thinks it’s a pretty good deal for them if they are open to trading. Kon would be pretty great on that roster and would return great win now value on a rookie deal if they could get him at #5. Would definitely be in line with previous trade ups in the draft.

Would also be really good for PHX to get Kessler as well…I think they would value him as much as anyone and if Jase weren’t in this draft I would say they probably value picks very little.

Has anyone asked Harper how he’s feeling about playing with Fox and Castle? Two of the worst offensive fits with him in the league. Even if there was only one of them it wouldn’t surprise me if he wanted to play elsewhere.

I know DA isn't supposed to be running the show anymore, but one of his famous non-trades was when he tried to give the Hornets a massive package for Justise Winslow. They wanted Kaminsky so bad they said no, but it was a case where DA tried to buy a home that was not for sale. He also made the big bet to trade back and take Tatum. His conviction on draft night is very strong.

Spurs get: Lauri Markkanen, Kyle Filipowski

Jazz get: #2 pick, #8 pick, Lakers 2031 FRP (unprotected), Lakers removal of protection on 2027 FRP , Lakers swaps in 2030/32, and 4 seconds (all from the Nets)

Nets get: #5 pick, Devin Vassell

Lakers get: Walker Kessler

Jazz draft Harper and Maluach
Absolutely yes!

Also cool with trading up to 3 and keep 5.

Draft Tre and Maluach. Trade Kessler to Lakers for a haul and whoever we get back in the deal from Philly.

I don't understand trading Kessler (unless he wants out and is an issue). He is the type of player that we want to draft and ultimately have. Why are we trading him and pushing the rebuild down the line when we have the player we want. Also, if we are trading him, we at least need multiple good prospects. I don't care about draft picks at this point, unless it is for our vets. I was a huge fan of the rebuild and trading Gobert and Donovan, but if we are continuously extending it, and trading our good prospects, I may be out.

Depends on the extension he will agree to but also since we are trying to tank he is not super helpful for that lol. Really good player that takes up like none of the cap.

If his value is at its highest and we find a replacement project it may make some sense. Also, people get trade horny and need to bust.

Because the rebuild has already been pushed down the line, he’s due for real money, and he helps us win for the last season we need to be genuinely awful for. It’s worth noting that he doesn’t project as a terribly good playoff player (subject to hack-a tactics, has played essentially 0 high-stakes/pressure minutes, doesn’t shoot or make plays with a basketball which for the last years means you might get played off the floor in crunch time).

I don’t think anyone is itching to dump him, but if we can get a haul we’d be selling high and timing it perfectly.

I thought Tony proclaimed that basically everyone is for sale but the price tag on Lauri and Walker remains high.

In that case Walker should cost the same or more than whatever pick gets you Maluach just for being NBA-proof elite rim protector and rebounder.

I think that would be the type of situation that might lead to Walker getting moved. If Edey had slipped to us last year I think they may have moved Walker. Say they acquire a pick late in the lotto and can get Maluach or Beringer (if they like him) or maybe even like Sorber... then I think they are more likely to take an offer from the Lakers (i think they are the only team that will pay what we would request).

Sounds like the KD deal will be Houston, Miami, or Minnesota. If it is Miami I am sure the picks they get there would potentially be re-routed to a third team for win-now players because Miami's matching salary guys aren't very helpful.

Minnesota still will need some help to do a deal and I am not sure where it comes from. I am rooting for them though if the deal includes Rudy. Those picks would get a lot juicier.

Would guess it's like

Wiggins
Scary Terry
20
Ware

For KD?

And then they try to package 20 and Scary Terry for cap relief.

Maybe the Heat send Jovic and another pick too.
Ware will be untouchable in the deal. It will be like Terry and Robinson plus a couple picks and Jovic/Jaquez

Yeah, I'm like the biggest KD hater there is and this is nowhere close to enough. Ware has to be in the deal.
Just telling you how that will go. I already saw reports of them saying Ware was untouchable.

Vassell, Sochan, and #14 seemed to be the Spurs offer... Houston seems to be #10, Jabari, Green

The offers don't seem amazing. I like the Houston offer the most.
