Even without PG why are we giving Lauri and 5Yeah I think we should get more than that to take on PG’s contract

Honestly IDK if it is. It certainly isnt bad, but Bane has a contract that is somewhat palatable for your 3rd option. That's kind of hard to justify with Lauri in this new CBA.Desmond Bane is a great player, but I didn't think he would have this much value. Pretty good for Lauri's potential trade value. Better sign than the theoretical Cam Johnson value.

Significant difference in the new CBA with the apron rulesBane's contract is not that far of Lauri's. 36 million/year vs. 46 million/year. Not a small difference but not a large one. Still a ton of money either way.
Genuine question, when was the last time a first round pick, especially an unprotected pick, was traded in a salary dump (besides big brain Lindsey)? One pick was needed to dump KCP+Cole…so Bane’s value was like 3 firsts and a swap from a team who is in theory going to yield picks in the 20s for the foreseeable future.
With Lauri’s greater salary, I think 2-3 firsts is about right. So I guess it just depends on what your expectations were before. You still need a buyer and maybe that just doesn’t exist, but IMO he should be just a tad lower in trade value compared to Bane.

Seems to me like eating salary isn't as valuable as it used to be
