2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

I love how we should just "get rid of" Lauri, Clarkson, Sexton and Collins, as if that's somehow easy.

With Lauri's ridiculous deal, role player image and the terrible year he had, there's very few possible landing spots. Maybe none.

The rest of the guys have zero market.

The Ainge tag team needs to be prepared to take some massive L's if they intend to part ways with these four. Just a fact.

Even if Jazz can only get second round picks that may be OK
Look at what Austin has done already for second round picks and free agents
He may have found some roster talent in free agents

I’ve scoured the contracts and situations, but I just don’t see an obvious trading partner.

Phoenix would probably love to part with Beal, but they wouldn’t need more backcourt players like Sexton and Clarkson with their recent trades.

I don’t think Milwaukee can dump Lillard for his contract because they have to keep Giannis happy.

The Lakers will be active with their expirings (Kleber, and maybe Vincent) and possibly Knecht and/or Milton.

Paul George will be a situation to watch but I think Philly is stubborn enough to keep him and his terrible contract.

In light of drafting Ace and him (desperately) needing people around him that might be able to provide real positive influence/mentorship, we should go get Dame, even if the compensation to take on his contract is slight or maybe even non-existent.
This is the trade that continues to make the most sense. I just need us to get that 2031 first. I think we can finesse it out tho.

Sam Vecenie in his draft grades and athletic pod says a number of teams had targeted NOP as they knew they would do something stupid and they wanted to be the team that took advantage. Lol nba GMs are not that much different than us @KqWIN

My guesses

Sexton to the Lakers for Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber, and two seconds
John Collins to the Grizzlies for KCP and a top 4 protected Magic pick (KCP sent to another team?)
Clarkson maybe waived.

In terms of salaries and team fit, the Heat, Wolves, and Pistons are abysmal fits for Sexton.

It's kind of the Lakers or bust and the Lakers have to trade Reaves for a center first.

Maaaaybe the Heat could be interested, I guess, but I really hate the Sexton-Herro fit.

The Nuggets and Bucks may be interested out of sheer desperation, but they should absolutely not be interested, lol.

Dumars did imply that they offered the same package to everyone starting at #9 and they didn't get a bite until Atlanta at #13. I think most of those teams were in love with the guy they took, but it was such a lopsided trade they missed out on

11 and 12 need to go look in the mirror. Suns I kinda get. Toronto prolly should have considered it.

Pretty sure the Heat would love to dump Rozier.

Wolves are desperate for scoring when Ant goes to the bench. Conley is near washed but could still be a nice mentor for the Jazz young guards.

It sounds like Dennis Schroeder won't be resigned in Detroit so Sexton would be a younger replacement.

The amount of dumb teams is plentiful as well. We have to engage with them as many times as possible. DA should know this, BOS won their recent ring because he fleeced Prok!!
