Odds on how long before pundits, podcasters, blog boys, etc. begin the drumbeat for tearing down the Cavaliers and rebuilding (and Denver if they lose to OKC)? Further, what are the odds before a drumbeat begins for trading Jokic and getting what Denver can for him?

As if that's the only way to build a team and, at least in Cleveland's case, the lack of appetite among most fans for enduring yet another rebuild and the fact Jokic is a truly generational talent and trading him is even dumber than trading Doncic.

Yet, I'm guessing it won't stop the drumbeat from gaining momentum. How does that saying go, "if the only tool you have is a hammer...?"

No one is calling for a rebuild for the Cavs, but Im sure there will be continuing talks about the fits of Mobley/Allen and Garland/Mitchell.

There is a sentiment in the cavs community that Mobley is being held back from his full potential by the ball dominant guards. That on top of Garland not being 100% during playoff time and the player fits not being seamless. It will be an interesting offseason for them. Should they just run it back?

Not yet. Just wait, a friendly gentlemen's bet that it's a matter of time. (I'm aware that I could be over my skis on this prediction.)

That said, you're almost certainly correct. I imagine some changes are in store and those are the most obvious and weighty ones to consider.

It's not uncommon for teams to experience a few years of playoff flameouts before they break through, while tinkering around the edges, or otherwise keep a core in place. I guess the question is who's the "core" at Cleveland? I say Mitchell and Mobley definitely. Garland and Allen less so. We'll see.

I am very skeptical that any team can win the title with Mitchell as the #1 option. Sooner or later, he'll suck the balance out of the offensive flow and it becomes too Mitchell centric. He's not shown that he can be reliable in this role.

absolutely they will not. they need better role players and right now garland just isn't what they need. He will likely be shipped off for some role players. or, if don threatens to leave hell get fired away for role players. ironically, I wonder if they would trade don back for Lauri

Their problem is Mitchell.. plain and simple.. when he has the ball everyone just stands and watch. Other teams has that too except Mitchell cant hit the long shot consistently enough.

Compare that to the Pacers team where everybody’s involved.

Agreed. During lower stakes games, the offense flows and the ball is shared more. In crunch time or high stakes games, it always has been and will always be Mitchell time. We have sufficient data points to conclude that it's a load he can't shoulder successfully. That's why I don't think any team with him as the #1 option will ever win the title.
 
Celtics looking like the team that wants it more right now pulling out to a 7 point lead..
