2025 Playoffs Chat & Chill Thread

Man I'm amazed at how Indy looked so poorly prepared to face OKC ball pressure. Like if there is anything that pops out of the tape about that Thunder team its that they are relentless in attacking the ball.

I'm even more at a loss for words on how OKC managed to not run away with the score in the first half after being so overwhelmingly dominant on defense and creating so many good transition opportunities.

I guess shooting 21/49 at the rim and 7/19 in the midrange kinda tanks your offense.

I feel like 25% of the internet already whiffed on their prediction after game 1.

The sweep calls were loud and plentiful.

That was incredibly impressive grit and toughness from the Pacers. They took all the punches that the best defense in the NBA had to give and they kept coming.

I have to admit, that even though I'm cheering for the Pacers, I'm still a little emotionally attached to the Thunder. I just like so many of their players and the way they play defense.

So was this a fluke game?

OKC should’ve been up by much more considering how many times they turned Indy over. In the future, will they wear Indy down with their pressure and begin to hit shots?

Or

Is Indy just that good that they can turn the ball over 20+ times and still remain competitive against these guys?

Indy has been an incredibly good shooting team in the playoffs and can withstand to lose the possession battle by some. One of the reasons their turnovers weren't as detrimental as they could have been is that they didn't lead to fast break points. A turnover that doesn't lead to an easy bucket is basically the same as a missed shot.

Indy runs the court better than any other team. I sort of underestimated that when I considered their turnover problems (which they had in their previous series as well) vs OKC tendencies to attack the ball. I thought it would be more of a benefit to OKC.

Craziest stat combo of the game:
Turnovers IND 24, OKC 6
Fastbreak points IND 10, OKC 11

They also shored it up a lot after half time. They had 18 TO in the first half and only 6 in the 2nd half which is why they were able to come back. It was a lot of small things like Myles Turner stopped bringing the ball down after rebounds (which he did in the first half and pretty much lost it every time).
