2025 Utah Jazz All-Time Bad Draft

I vote to veto Miggs last pick. You cant have 3 6' guards

Devin Brown was 6’5”.

The Dubs famously had 6’5” Klay lockdown Lebron the one game. My team is gonna take the same approach but instead of being really good at it, they’ll be atrocious.

You set the rules. I’m clearly playing within the rules. I’m going small ball because my coach is a moron. Cry harder if you don’t like my ability to construct losers!

Greg Foster is forever a Jazz great for his finger across the throat gesture after hitting a big 3 against the Lakers.
I remember that. It wasn’t a big three though the jazz had a double digit lead. He hit that shot and did the gesture. It woke up the lakers. It ended up waking the lakers up almost immediately and they came back and won the game. It was all his fault

With their 3rd pick, the Mellochills select guard Jamie Watson from South Carolina. Watson barely makes the 1,000-minute requirement, coming in at 1,019 minutes played for the Jazz over the course of 2.5 seasons from 1994-97. Watson averaged 3.1 ppg and 1.3 rpg for the Jazz. He played experimental minutes as a big point guard, but didn't handle the ball well enough. As a SG/SF, his 31.6% 3pt shooting and limited offensive skillset kept him from playing regular minutes.

I was sure it was a jumper from the right side of the court, but apparently it was a dunk. I did remember correctly that the Jazz won though:

“Greg Foster hasn’t earned the right to be anything in this league,” Harris said later in even tones. “He’s lucky that he’s just been able to stick with a team.

“He has not got the right to taunt anybody. Wait until he’s done something in this league.”

Added O’Neal: “He’s a bum. He’s just hiding behind [Jeff] Hornacek, [John] Stockton. He’s a bum, period.”

The postgame quotes about this are pretty hilarious, Del Harris in particular comes across pretty poorly.

For some reason I was thinking of Dee Brown

But yes, you cant draft a bunch of 6' guards. I clearly said in the sign up thread we are making actual teams.

Just catching up on this thread. Couple things:

Trey Burke at 1 is hilarious. Watching that jumpshot in the video brought back a visceral feeling of unease and discomfort. Nice pick.

I had a buddy growing up who worked for John Amaechi during his time with the Jazz, and the stories were insane. Lotta drugs. Lotta orgies. Dude had his own Diddy parties.
