2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

I think Trae makes sense as a buy low for the Wizards. You get an AJ/DP in the draft and you're immediately cooking if you can get another good big

Trading for Trae at this point would certainly be a very Wizards move.

They're winning, they're running, they're moving the ball... and then they bring in an inefficient 6 foot ball hog who plays no defense. Good luck.

I think the Kings should actually trade for Trae... but I'd see if you can do it this summer.

Nah, I'd rather see Trae on a team that has a clue how to build something.
They just have nothing... awful on both sides of the ball. Vivek never has patience for a full rebuild. IDK if I'd for sure do it but I'd consider it if they don't land a pg in the draft.

Trae to Wiz make sense cuz none of the guys they've got are primary ball handlers. More like secondary or tertiary options forced to make things happen. Like Kyshawn George is averaging well over 3 TOs a game because he's asked to handle the ball when he shouldn't. Trae being there could help alleviate a lot of their bad offense and they got enough defensive tools to surround him with.

We are going to try to make a playoff push next year. Anyone interested in a FVV for Nurkic swap? Houston adds draft compensation on top. It would eat up 25M of our cap space this offseason but it’s interesting to me. He’s out the rest of this season which helps us tank and then we get him back healthy next season.

Houston does it to delay the repeater tax and they will be on a money crunch soon with upcoming extensions. Capela hasn’t worked out for them as a backup big either.

Fascinating idea. I’m a solid probably but I doubt Houston would add draft comp.

Sure but FVV does have a no trade clause which kinda gums up any deals involving him.

I can’t believe anyone wanted or wants Davis. It’s like a psyop; he cannot play and the issue is going to get worse.

The trajectory of his career has been clear for many years now.

Giannis, Trae and AD all on the block and teams are like "Hell no!" Maybe Morant too pretty soon.

The era of the old, injury prone or very small "superstars" still getting paid megabucks is over. Love it.

It’s an “implied” no trade clause which has confused me because most explanations are not straightforward and if I understand them correctly, “implied no trade clause” is a sub-optimal term at best.

Point being, you raised an important point. It seems he has to sign off on his next destination (because that is built into a one-year reup that includes a 2nd year team option, which FVV signed).
