2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

The Bulls don't seem to be investing in Ayo or White long term. Or at least they are going to choose one.

I wonder if the Jazz/Bulls would swap Collier for Ayo or White

I wouldn't want White tbh, but he might get undervalued in free agency and you have his bird rights? He is talented though redundant to Keyonte.

But Ayo. I'd love to get that done.
I guess it depends on if we draft a guard.

Hmm, maybe we really like the him or he's going to be part of another trade. Unless it's Giannis or the relationship is broken I prefer to keep him. He's a great big man duo with JJJ and we have lots of versatility especially come playoffs. We don't really need extra late round picks over a legit starter or possibly more.
We just can’t lose him for nothing (or less than nothing if we have to sign him to an exorbitant contract that makes him a negative asset).

I would probably just trade him now if the offers are good but I would also have preferred they keep him at a reasonable figure but that ship may have sailed (as evidenced by getting multiple offers of multiple 1sts if the reporting is to be believed).

Donovan Mitchell Urged Cavaliers Into James Harden Trade

Three league sources confirmed Mitchell communicated dissatisfaction with the team's current construction. The 28-year-old guard, who has one guaranteed year remaining on his $150 million contract plus a player option for 2027-28, signaled through personal conversations or representatives that organizational changes were necessary.

Would have to be now, not later
I don’t know. Assuming we’re keeping Key and Walker, we can’t afford to pay out the nose for a nice rotation player and that’s what having his Bird Rights would mean. Saying nothing of the tanking ramifications because he will not be sitting. He won’t.

I think the better path is pursuing a sign-and-trade using the Collins TPE which would have his starting salary at $18 million (which is a good price and also above the MLE).

Yeah it would be a rough blow to the tank. Good call

Pretty sure one of the reasons Zay played 48 minutes last night was a hail-Mary showcase (not necessarily that they have designs of trading him, casting the reel and seeing if anyone bites with an appealing offer).

I don't think so. I think it's because we didn't have any other ball handlers on the team that Hardy trusted.

WAS can tank still. Much easier to just shut down AD and Trae for the season so they could compete next year. But yeah it's a bit weird for WAS cuz AD doesn't fit their timeline. His body is gonna completely break down before their young core reaching its prime.
