The Jazz shot 30 3s a game last year. Preseason we went loco and shot 30 per half. Was that just preseason or a sign of things to come? Is that sustainable?

How many 3 point shots will we shoot on average this year?

We shot 50, made 19, with Bogie and DM shooting 11 and 10 respectively and each making 4. 38% as a team. I like that mix.

Crazy though. Who knew this is where it would all end up? Sloan is probably turning in his grave.

Big question is, will we average something north of 40 each game through the season?

Looking at our shot chart it looks damn near perfect for the game plan really. Clusters under the rim and at the 3 pt line and very little in the mid-range. Maybe between 7 and 10 of our shots could be called "mid-range", a few falling in that 6-8 foot section. 7 truly at 10 ft to 20 ft. All of the rest directly at the rim or a 3. So of our 94 shots attempted, 50 were 3's, let's say 10 were "mid-range" or floaters, and that leaves 34 directly at the rim. Whereas we forced Portland into at least 23 mid-range shots. No wonder we blew them out. Near-flawless execution of our offensive game plan combined with very solid execution of our defensive game plan.

LOL we "limited" them to 33 three-point attempts. Limited. LOL. Man has the NBA changed. Was a time when 33 attempts would be front-page news. Now it is a weak showing. Crazy.

Thats 4 games with +50 three point attempts. And yet no one thinks it is sustainable i guess.
Well at some point NBA teams will scout that and do what they can to minimize it, so I imagine it will come down some. I think we will end up around 40-42 per game perhaps. More likely is just under 40, but who knows? Maybe they find a way to keep hoisting 50 per game. Could happen.

Houston had the highest average attempts per game last year, at 45. The Jazz averaged 35 per game last year. I think we will come up closer to that 40 mark but I doubt we average 50 per game for the season.
