Andy Toolson signed with the Jazz as an undrafted free agent out of BYU in Ocotober 1990. He played 47 games with the Jazz in 1990-91 averaging a combined 5.0 points, rebounds and assists. After playing overseas for several years, the Jazz signed Toolson at some point prior to or during the 1995-96 season (bb-reference doesn't have a date for me). He played 13 games with the Jazz this go-around. He scored 5 points in his second-to-last NBA game on December 28, 1995.

Armen Gilliam signed with the Jazz on January 7, 2000. He finished his NBA career by playing 50 games with the Jazz. He had 55 turnovers with the Jazz. Sadly, he suffered a heart attack while playing basketball on July 5, 2011. He died that same night.

Rusty LaRue played parts of 5 seasons in the NBA. He signed with the Jazz as a free agent on October 1, 2001 only to be cut at or near the end of training camp. He would later sign the first of two 10-day contracts with the Jazz January 29, 2002 and eventually finish the season with the team. LaRue attempted nearly 5 (4.8) FGs per game with the Jazz. In his first game with the Jazz on January 30, 2002, he scored 5 points in a win against the Bulls. In the 2002 playoffs, LaRue scored 5 ppg.

Gordan Giricek has been discussed in the 10 day thread since he wore #10 for most of his time with the Jazz. He wore #5 at first though. I read somewhere that Giricek used to wear #17, then couldn't because of FIBA rules. He switched to #10 because Drazen Petrovic wore #10. Does anyone know why Giricek ever wore #5 with the Jazz instead of just wearing #10 his whole time here?

Anyway, Giricek made 5.1 FGs per game with the Jazz in 2003-04 after being acquired. Giricek's 5th game with the Jazz was a 5-point win over the Kings. Carlos Arroyo had 5 FGs and Roger Braille nearly fouled out with 5 PFs.

The Jazz signed Carlos Boozer on July 30, 2004. There was controversy from the get-go as Cleveland claims to have had a handshake contract agreement for Boozer in place when they (Cleveland) declined their team option on Boozer's contract. Boozer would draw much criticism from Jazz fans for a lack of defense, lack of toughness, and missing time due to injury. In his 5th game with the Jazz he made 5 FGs (out of 15 attempts). Had the Jazz won the game they would have been off to a 5-0 start to the season. Boozer was a double-double machine, averaging a double-double in his last 4 season here. He would've had 5 double-double seasons with the Jazz but he came up about 30 rebounds shy of being able to round to 10 in 2004-05.

Boozer is at #5 in the all-time Jazz rankings in the following categories: PPG (19.3), Defensive rebounds (2774), and Win Shares per 48 minutes (.160). In his final season with the Jazz, Boozer was 5th in the league in rpg. Boozer went to the Bulls in a sign-and-trade that saw Boozer sign a new 5-year contract, although he could be amnestied before playing that out.

Devin Harris was the 5th pick of the 2004 draft. He has been in almost 5 (4) trades. Of course we know that one of those trades sent him to the Jazz with Derrick Favors, the pick used to select Kanter, and another pick in exchange for D Will. In Harris' 5th game with the Jazz, played on March 5 ,2011, the Jazz beat the Kings, with Harris recording 5 rebounds and 5 turnovers.

We've talked about Mo Williams before, but I'll do it from a 5 perspective now. In his one season with the Jazz, Mo averaged 5 ppg. In his last game with the Jazz (prior to this season of course) the Jazz lost by 5 to the Suns. Roger Braille's +/- was -5.

In his first game as the Jazz head coach Jerry's team lost. Bart Kofed played 5 minutes, Mark Eaton had 5 fouls and missed all 5 of his fga. For the mavericks, James Donaldson blocked 5 shots (he must have been gaurding Karl), Mark Aguire and Detlif Schrempf had 5 fouls and Dereck Harper had 5 turnovers.

In Ty's first game as the Jazz head coach the jazz lost. Hayward shot 5 for 5 fgs, AK had 5 rebounds, CJ missed 5 of his 8 3pt attemps, and Deron had a +/- of -5 despite being just 2 rebounds shy of a triple double. CJ and Deron attempted the last 5 Jazz shots and were combine 5 for 13 fga in the 4th qtr. FOr Phoenix Channing Frye and Mikael Pietrus scored 5 pts, the suns made 5 3pt shots.

Among active franchises, the Jazz have the 5th highest winning percentage at .544 behind the Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, and Suns.

This isn't necessarily relevant to the Jazz, but among defunct franchises, the Utah Stars have the 5th highest winning percentage at .541 behind the Chicago Stags, Kentucky Colonels, Washington Capitols, and Anderson Packers.

Can we get another lockout going on please? Time is moving too fast. Basketball season seems like it should still be 4 months away.

The Jazz have had 55 wins in 4 different seasons. I know, it would be cooler if had happened in 5 seasons. In 1990-91 the Jazz fell 1 win short of 55. On January 26, 1991 the Jazz lost by 5 to the Nuggets. It was a tie game at the half with each time having 55 points. The Jazz were also 1 win short of 55 in 2007-08. They lost twice by 5 points. One of those times was on December 12, 2007 to the Suns. Gordan Giricek had a +/- of +5, but the Jazz still lost by 5. It was their 5th straight loss.
