7 more games for Hayward & Ty....

It depends on who's available. If we pick 2nd it's most likely a choice between Parker and Embiid. Hayward has proven he can't really play the 2. Our best lineups have Burks playing the 2 and Hayward playing the 3. Parker is just a better version of Hayward and I would rather see Burks play next to him than Hayward. If we took Embiid then we keep him.

I would still rather have a three wing rotation of Parker, Hayward and burks than a rotation of Parker, burks and a lesser player than Hayward. In my mind, there is no way the jazz let Hayward get away, and there is no reason to let him go, because a championship team needs to be a deep team, and Hayward is a perfect glue player. He can do a lot of things well, and scoring off the ball is one of those things. I think Hayward would do exceptionally well with Parker on this team.

I just think Hayward would be too expensive to make it worth it to bring him off the bench. Trade him and spread the talent around(if we pick Parker). We would probably win in a trade involving Hayward. I like him a lot but I think his value is over inflated around the league.

So basically you all think Hayward will be offered 12 mil from Portland, and the Jazz will not match.

Got it.

We will match whatever he is offered even if it is ridiculous. After letting Al and Sap leave the FO has to send the massage that that was a one time deal. We don't want to give other franchises the idea that they can steal players from Utah.

I'm w/ b_line. If the FA market had ANYTHING out there for US that was of equal value to Hayward, then maybe I'd understand using our cap on that. With the way our books are laid out, keeping Hayward at almost ANY price is a non factor since it will come off the books by the time the 2014 draftees come off their rookie scale. Hayward's a good #3 guy.

Maybe you all forgot that we are rebuilding and their would be pain? Did you expect him to just step into the #1 option (which he isn't built for) w/o any experienced/or not over-the-hill vets to help ease him in, and be awesome, while also leading us to the draft position we wanted so we could get his counterpart?

Some of you just can't help but bitch about everything.

Ty Corbain disagrees n says Vince Carter deserves that half man half amayzin money.

But that nukka done like ya grannys Thanksgivin,Turkey.

Chuuuuuhch!!

id say hayward stays.

not sure about corbin but i'd say there is a high probability that he will be gone.

This argument drives me absolutely nuts. You don't overpay just because the you have money today. Now I'm not talking about 1 million, but 3-4 million more than you value the player.

The books look good for the foreseeable future. Great, let's start to screw them over then. Bigger free agent signings (like Booz and Memo) never happen. Who knows what current 2nd year guy explodes in years 3-4 that we MAY be able to steal away if we are still flexible. Who knows what the FA market will look like in 2 or 3 years.

There is more to consider than just resigning our own talent and being worried about having room for that. Overpay a bunch of average players and you'll never be more than average. You don't want bad contracts period. You need to be patient and ready to seize opportunities when they arise.

One other team values Hayward at 12 so you match. Everyone else is at 8-9, guess how many teams are valid trade partners now if you need to move him. I don't want a mini AK deal on the books.

I'm fine with anything less than 8 btw.

tbh, hayward and parker are nothing alike (hayward a willing distributor, decent defender; parker a shooter who cant even defend anyone in the college game), and from the looks of his speed, size, and quickness, parker is more of a stretch 4 in this league. They could easily (and probably symbiotically) co-exist.

Hayward will be back. Instead of being down on him for having a terrible year we should be grateful. Any kind of a decent season and we'd be looking at a pick in the 12-14 range.

AS for Ty, I'm not sure what Lindsey's feelings were prior to this season. But I have to think if Dennis sticks to his guns about evaluating based on the defensive progression of the team then Corbin is a goner. You can blame it on personnel if you like, but this team has never established a defensive identity and has flat out quit the last month. Keep Ty and half the team has to be traded. Maybe that would happen under Sloan, but I don't think Ty has quite that cachet.

The whole point of playing small ball is to create mismatches and give you a speed advantage. Hayward/Parker @ the 3 & 4 does not accomplish this.

A stretch 4 opens up the lane for slashers and I don't see Hayward as fitting that role well.

On D I'm not sure that I would want Parker guarding NBA 4s all that often.
