A Big Move on the Horizon?

I disagree. Favor's has always valued consistency. He signed for a cheaper deal before he probably will again if both parties are interested so he doesn't have to worry about free agency. We have room to keep all three with Hayward gone.

The cheaper deal before is part of the reason he will look for a bigger return this year imo.

We would be a tax team and favs isn't an ideal fit... I mean maybe but I think we are going to keep two of those three.

I just think Anderson is too limited... love is under rated and his defense is improved. He doesn't look adequate against HS because they are an all star team, but he also doesn't have as much help as we could put around him... he is not Kanter or Boozer. He tries.

I think we'd be pretty damn good if we could steal him. I think we'd be better than last year.

There are scenarios where Anderson could go to Detroit and we could end up with Harris maybe.

I agree though Anderson is a great shooter but so limited. If his deal was 3/30 I'd be okay but 3/60 suxxxx.

It just comes down to which teams would want or take Anderson... supposedly SVG likes him, NO likes him, I would have thought Sac would be interested... I can't think of other plausible destinations.

I don't think the Jazz would do a deal based around Tobias Harris. His shooting percentages, rebound numbers and defense just aren't quite there. He has 2-years at $16M per which could be Rodney Hood or Dante Exum money.

I have an irrational love for Tobias Harris... he has Jazz DNA.

If he was small ball 4 he'd be great for us.

It is amazing how fast and wildly Jazzfanz swings on Favors. One day it is all about keeping him and the next day it is they better trade him while they still can.

It's amusing.
This.
I'm one of the jazz fans who behaves in such a manner btw.

I imagine if we were headed for something big we would have kept Diaw right until his deadline. The flexibility would help... we will see I guess.

I've been arguing for years that a healthy Favors can play next to Rudy and that the whole spacing issue has been blown out of proportion. I still feel that way, if you have 3 shooters on the floor with them, but Rubio replacing Hill changes things. Between that, and Quin's reluctance to start Favors at the 4 when he was healthy at the end of the season last year, I just have my doubts that Favors is going to be in our future plans. There is also some other smoke, such as Favors taking down all his Jazz stuff on twitter, and DL probably not wanting to risk losing another asset for nothing next year.

I'm a big fan of Favors, and I'd like nothing more than to see him and Rudy dominating on the defensive end, now that we have a badass defensive rotation in the backcourt, but there's a ton of smoke pointing to Utah moving him this year.

Yep. This whole thread lost a ton of momentum when we just waived Diaw. Seems like we are staying put or adding a player through free agency.

His agent came right out and said if Hayward was here, Utah wouldn't be able to keep Favors. IMO, that was agent speak for Favors getting paid this time. I doubt there's any chance Utah signs him cheaply again.

I just think if it was close then you'd hold on to the flexibility as long as possible. Could also mean it is agreed to in principle... does not mean it won't happen I would just say it is not eminent.

Boris Diaw's contract is only attractive to teams that want/need to push some salary on the Jazz. The Jazz may not have liked what was offered in return.
