A bit of trade speculation surrounding Cousins...

Cousins would immediately become the best player on our team by a fair margin. It also appears he is pleasable given how he dealt with Mike Malone. I would 100% make sure he's down to come here before trading for him though. It's probably likely he wouldn't want to share with Gobert and they both want to operate in the same space. There's a fair chance of recreating a Gasol/Noah problem.

It's tempting, but we have too good of a foundation here to touch that. Favors isn't as good as Cousins, but he isn't far behind. You know Favors and Gobert work. You know Hayward works with those two. I don't know why you mess with those three, especially for a player with Cousins history.

With Hayward, Favors and Gobert your floor is 38 wins, your ceiling is 60+ wins. With Cousins, your floor is, what? 20 wins? You ceiling might be 3-5 wins higher.

It doesn't make sense to trade for Cousins. Not now.

LOL. Okay.

How would you score with that team. You could literally put one man on Hood and double team the bigs. You'd never score. No ball handlers, no shooters, how would execute any offensive play? You would be the worst most inefficient offense ever. I don't care how good the defense is, you have to score. This team would not.

Giannis' offense will come around I have no doubt about it. We're talking about enlarging the 'development era' into a team with better potential even than what we currently have. Adding Giannis to this group would be huge man, I don't know what you're talking about.

Currently I put Giannis' potential at A and Hayward's at B- being generous. Plus Exum will start coming around as well and Favors and Gobert still have some wiggle room to improve on offense.
Take the Gordo blinders off...

Milwaukee would never do that trade so I'm not sure why we're talking about it...

So you admit that Giannis has more value than Hayward, at least we're making some progress. What I think is stupid is to not even consider doing it for questionable offensive purposes.

Just think of the lineup

Collison, Exum, Neto
Burks, Hezonja, Milsap
Hood, Ingles, Draft pick
Cousins, Monroe, Booker
Gobert, Tomic, then Cousins could bounce up here in a crunch

I'd rather have that lineup then Lenord

I didn't realize you could just wish for players to magically appear on Jazz roster and it would/could happen. Seeing as how it appears to be so, then I think you really should give more thought to who you put there.

Oh, and Cousins acquisition would make me into a fan of some other team. Even if he came here and played for free and cost us nothing. Poison- read label. Why you think Sac. is unhappy enough to peddle him as talented as he is?

I was wondering if the no sactowns would just take a bunch of pick for cousins and then salary fodder t make it work out.

Some posters freak out when someone posts about D-Will returning and what it will do to team morale. Cousins is the worst cancer out there. His attitude sucks, he's fought teammates in the past (college, NBA), pulled Thomas away from Chris Paul during a post-game handshake, etc. Hell, no.
Blasphemy! Kanter is the worst - it's a fact which anyone on JF can confirm.

FWIW, both of those guys won chips... I might be in the minority, but I think i would still actually trade favors for cuz...

I think a lot of Cousins issues are because hes on a **** team with retard players around him. That has to be very frustrating.

This one makes me harder than overdosing on Viagra:

Maybe an over-share? Dunno. I'm not that high on Giannis, tbh. Great length defensively, but so far his unique traits haven't translated to in-game dominance as a wing or a forward. Hayward has excellent mobility, IQ and ability to facilitate for an SF. He's still a glue guy of sorts, but one of the best in the league.

One important factor that someone mentioned, the Kings have to bring in a replacement for Cousins--a high-caliber player--who won't throw a fit for being traded to what will likely be the worst team in the league next year. The Kings without Cousins have a record like 5-24 or something.

Could you imagine Blake Griffin and KIA's reaction if Blake were traded to Sacramento? How about Russell Westbrook? Sacto almost has to trade Cousins for a lottery pick and completely start over. Without Cousins, that franchise literally has nothing above replacement value---well, depending on how you feel about Ben McLemore.

Huh. So Borderline All Star is a B-? Yikes. That's crazy. At worst, Hayward's potential is a B+ and he is already a...B+. So, you'd trade Hayward, a B+, for a C level player with A potential?

No thanks.

Then, you'd take a team on pace to win 55 wins and blow that up so one day you might win 60 games? When that 55 win team has the same shot at some day winning 60+ games if Exum pans out? That's crazy. That's an easy way to not make money as an owner. Instead of winning 55 next year and possibly 60 the next, you'd rather be in the lottery again next year, maybe win 55 games in three years and maybe win 60 in four years? You'd trade 19 and 5 for 12 and 6 hoping he someday hits 16 and 7?

Um. No thanks.

Okay, now what if Sacramento is willing to trade first-round picks this year, meaning the Jazz could get Russell or Hezonja at #6. The Jazz might send out Hood and take back Stauskas or something.

That's just speculation on top of speculation... but now you're looking at Exum/Hezonja/Hayward/Cousins/Gobert, which is championship-level talent.

Seriously? Please no more Stauskas trades. Cousins is a great talent but there is no way I want him on the Jazz. I like the team chemistry we have and there is no way I would throw in Hood.

What 55 win team you are talking about? If the Jazz are making the playoffs next year is a huge question.

Nice of someone to come in and drop something that isn't ham-fisted stupidity.

I would take Giannis over Hayward that's all I can say man

I have personally known Cousins for 6 years now.
He is a great dude. Funny as hell.

It drives me CRAZY how he pouts about EVERY call EVERY game.

But he is not a thug or a malcontent.
