It doesn't seem to be related to the fact they're Muslim.

Oh? I was listening to NPR earlier, and they mentioned that the police thinks it's over some parking dispute.

Edit: Read article. I don't think I've heard of an atheist killing a religious person out of hate before (at least not in America). I hope that's not the case.

Yes, Initially and that is where they are now. The police also said “We understand the concerns about the possibility that this was hate-motivated and we will exhaust every lead to determine if that is the case.”

When they finish that investigation then I think we can speak with a little more certainty about the scope of his motives.

Terrible tragedy. No matter the motives I hope this dude gets death penalty. Scumbags like him do not deserve to exist on our Earth.

What HeyHey said. A lot of the earlier media coverage seemed to really sever the ties to the faith of the killed-- but it's way too early to know if it's 100% because of a parking dispute.

Why would you go to a home of a family, and kill a husband, wife, and sister-in-law?

I'm just not sure why a parking dispute would result in the killing of multiple people. The ethnic angle seems more likely, from a distance.

Where these people neighbors? Seems like if you wanted to commit a straight hate crime, you would do it more discretely. Sounds like this may have been rage induced over the parking stuff combined with religious hate.
