Success I mean contending for a championship. We have a very low chance of success in winning a championship with Conley. And Brogdon is a clear better fit to our current lineup. As simple as that.

One thing I don't agree is the general statement that Donovan has been bad. For the first 10 games of so he looked terrific, unfortunately he reversed to his bad habits from the past. I don't know what's the reason. Maybe he feels that the team struggles and puts to much pressure on himself so it causes him to force things?

Not sure I agree with low sample size either. 20% of Conley's shots are catch and shoot, which is consistent throughout his career. He's got an EFG% on catch and shoot over 60% this season, which isn't an outlier. The problem as I see it, is simply shot selection. We need to do a better job of getting him these looks.

I'm not sure how Conley will work out, but anyone that wants Rubio, go look at his first 3 months with the Jazz shooting about 25 % from 3. Conley will get better. How much better, I'm not sure, but he will be better. Mitchell needs to realize that Bojan is the best offensive player on this team, and let the game come to him more. Playing him with the second unit has been detrimental for him. The offense is disjointed, and he feels he needs to force things. Ingles needs something different. If that is to be moved to the starting unit, or its having Gobert play with the bench, I'm not sure. Him with Davis, Green, Mudiay, Exum has been atrocious.

Nope. Some shooters are just better shooting off the bounce than catch and shoot. Just looking at their 3pt % can be deceiving. Conley has spent his whole career with the ball consistently in his hands. But we need someone who is adapted at off-ball/catch n shoot. Conley isn't the one.

If this is true, here is an idea... Let Conley play his traditional role more while he is in, and play Mitchell more with the 2nd unit and let him dominate the ball more with them. This could sell 3 problems at once, letting Conley and Mitchell both play the way they want to play more, and are better at, and helping the bench unit get scoring, which seems to be a problem.

If this is true, here is an idea... Let Conley play his traditional role more while he is in, and play Mitchell more with the 2nd unit and let him dominate the ball more with them. This could sell 3 problems at once, letting Conley and Mitchell both play the way they want to play more, and are better at, and helping the bench unit get scoring, which seems to be a problem.

For me, this doesn't work for two reasons - #1 Mitchell is our best offensive player and #2 We can only contend for a title if Mitchell becomes a superstar. Conley needs to fit an offense built around ball movement and Mitchell in the last 5 minutes. He also needs to fit a defense built around Gobert. So far, Conley has disappointed.

The best solution at this point is definitely getting Conley and DM to two different lineups. But when that happens, the Conley trade will basically come down as a major failure.

No, Donovan is trying to win. That's all he's trying to do. For team USA, he deferred a lot. In their big loss, he did everything he could to keep that team afloat.

Something is just off right now. Conley and Donovan are playing similarly and it's not bringing out the best in the team as a whole. There is no one guy to blame. They gotta figure it out.

LoPo, I think you are one of the smartest guys here, but I think you are way off the mark here with #2. Mitchell will become a superstar by winning, and he won't win by playing 1 on 5, especially doing that every play in the last 5 minutes. Conley may need time to learn the offense, maybe, I don't know, I don't see enough of the games, but if Conley is capable of being the point guard, they should let him be the point guard. By the way, I was very encouraged with Rudy's play on the offensive end against Philly.. I think he has improved. This team theoretically could be really good, if everybody plays to their potential. Obviously, it is not clicking yet.

PS Karl Malone became a star while letting the point guard handle the ball most of the time. It is possible.
