It's a dump all right, but nothing to do with salary.

Maggette is no where that bad a producer to dump him for nothing. Jazz got a draft pick for dumping Brewer. Even Don Nelson thinks that's a bad salary dump.

Very true. But Maggette would put up better numbers than AK does in our system, and he is more of a threat.

Agree.
And dropping back to the #16 and #23 ain't so bad if the Jazz decide no bigs are that impressive and they'll take Orton, Whiteside or one of the wings. Then they can pick up another solid backup at #23.
