The "veteran" talk is quickly shot down once you ask people to start naming names. There are players in this draft that could be all stars at 23. I'm not trading it for someone like Thaddeus Young.

Just my theory...no different than anyone else posting their opinions for discussion.
I just look at the roster and see a need to have some GOOD veterans on the team. If they keep all their picks and bring over Neto, Jazz would have 10 players under 24 yrs old. Hayward, if he returns, would be the "grizzled, old vet" at 25.

Perhaps just wishful thinking on my part that DL will find an established GOOD starter that a rebuilding team wants to trade for assets.

So the #23 for who? I don't see much value on their roster.

AS for the #9, what would they want in return? Favors or Kanter? Those aren't exactly the stars LA is looking for according to the article.

What can the lakers offer anybody? A few trophies? A few vintage Afro mamba signed cards?

That roster is garbage and they're in salary cap hell.

They put all their stock in vets and it came back to bite them. They have a longer and more painful rebuild ahead than most people think. Kobe won't sniff the playoffs in the purple and gold again.

Yes, if you're going to lose that player anyway. Something else likely gets thrown in. The #6 pick in this draft is like us getting Favors + other assets for Deron.
