A what if scenario......

Was bored and got to thinking.....

What if we didn't trade up for Burke. Say we drafted Bazz and Gobert or something like that.

Would we have still made that trade with GS for Rsh and the picks, or go after someone like Teague, who as it turns out could've been easy to get?

Teague
Bazz Burks
Hayward
Kanter
Favors

or

Burke
Rush burks
Hayward Jefferson
Kanter
Favors Biedrins

With the GS 14 pick and 17 pick and a gazillion second round picks.

I'm optimistic Burke will be good. Who knows maybe he will develop fast as its looking like he will start right off the get go.

Gobert has potential, and Neto could be a good backup. Burks Gobert and Neto give us a fast start to rebuilding our bench.

Under the direction Lindsay has taken the jazz feel we will have more room to improve our starting lineup and our bench.

So which direction do you like best?

Also got to thinking after my post, maybe the jazz just resign Mo and one of Jefferson or Millsap. Yikes!

WHAT?????????????? Have you been living under a rock or something? Jefferson and Millsap have already signed with other teams.

I think he was saying if we hadn't drafted Burke, maybe free agency would have turned out differently. My take is there was genuine angst in the FO about committing to a full rebuild.
Option 1: Hope for high 2014 pick to add 1 more starter. Take Shroeder or Larkin at #14 and Gobert at #21.
Option 2: Satisfied with core starters, counting on internal growth. Projected 2014 pick in 12-16 range. Bazz at #14, Gobert at 21, Re-sign Millsap, Mo, DMC. Sign Calderon or Jack as backup PG.

Wait what? Why was I not informed?!?!1

I like Teague. He improved every year especially at playmaking averaging 7.2 assists per game last year. Draft Bazz, Gobert and we have scoring and size. I don't how much cap space we would have but I think we could do the same trade but excluding Rush.

Teague/Burks/Tinsley
Burks/Hayward/Bazz
Hayward/Bazz/DMC
Kanter/Favors/Evans
Favors/Gobert/Biedrins

Lindsey is all about value. Getting Teague would have required paying him a ridiculous sum of money in order for Atlanta to not have matched. Not worth it.
