What's new

acquire Ray Allen

I really like Ray Allen. And I think he'd be terrific as a mentoring figure/leader. But how much does he cost at his age? And he probably takes good opportunities away from Burks, Hayward, and/or yet-to-be-acquired guy.

I can't say I'd be upset if the Jazz signed him. But it wouldn't be prudent.

So long as we cut out our other wing guys and resisted the temptation to sign some other idiot along with Allen, I think we'd be fine. Would help our dire need for shooters.

I doubt Pierce goes anywhere until his contract is up - and then he'll probably just retire. He's loved in Boston big time - he'll be a Celtic for life.

Allen is done - he looked 45 years old in the playoffs. I wouldn't touch him. Boston will let him walk and give Bradley a chance.

I'm interested to see what Brandon Bass does, he has a player option for 4 mil. My guess is he becomes a FA and tries to get a 3 or 4 year deal.

isnt pierce contract up this year?
or was it garnets?
not sure which

i thought allen and pierce contract where up, but i might be mistaken

Ray Allen will go to Chicago (if they release Korver, Brewer, and possibly Watson) or Phoenix (yes, the Suns). If the Suns re-sign Nash, I think they will go for the old man trifecta of Nash, Hill, and Allen.

Why not just trade players X, Y, and asset Z for player A? IT'S NOT THAT ****ING SIMPLE.

At what point has there been any indication that the Jazz will be in the hunt for Beal? Forgetting that the Jazz have no size on the perimeter and no PGs after this upcoming season (as it stands).

That's all true, but answer this simple questiion; Would you trade Al for Beal?

Of course you trade Jefferson for Beal. I don't think teams are going to want to trade Beal for Jefferson, though.

As for Allen, he won't sign with the Jazz not because of location or the direction the Jazz are going, but for long term stability. He's going to want a three year deal, and the Jazz aren't going to offer one because they want to stay flexible for the next off season.

Yes. I'd also trade Al for just about any crap that doesn't stand in the way of Favors, Kanter, the defense, and anything resembling an actual offense.

Who wouldn't want Ray Allen on the Jazz? He can run the point, can still shoot lights out when healthy. Have him come off the bench, and that's money in the bank for Utah. Do it, do it, do it.

I'd like to see us try and get KG in some shape of form. We need somebody who isn't going to take stupidity from this team for nothing.
