When I was 8 or 9 years old I was traveling with my family and we decided to stop at a county fair. The customs were a little different than they were back home. I remember a young girl. She must have won a beauty pageant a few weeks earlier because she had the right to represent the community on this night. She was brimming with excitement and sewn tightly into her dress. Someone introduced her over a loud speaker, and there was a small crowd that applauded for a minute. She waved that annoying way beauty queens are taught to wave -- that stiff, side to side thing. Anyway, the weird part was that she kept waving goodbye for, like, way too long. Everybody had lost interest in her, but she just kept smiling and waving. "Goodbye," she said -- but then, she was still there.

It's actually our tent trailer we take out into the AZ strip and stay weekends. It expands and sleeps 3 queen sized beds.
