Advice needed

1) Do you see how some folks are more risk tolerant, more entreprenuerially minded, have more business savvy, than others?
2) Do you see how offering those people tax shelters that benefit them to steer their monies into job creating/tax revenue generating sectors?
3) Are you really butt-hurt if those that CREATE the jobs and take all the risk actually earn more?
4) Do you really feel they should be penalized by paying a GREATER share?

1) Yes.
2) I think "shelter" might bne the wrong word, but certainly deductions and credits.
3) No, they should earn more
4) They are not being penalized. They are earning more, even after taxes are applied in a progressive structure. They are also being taxed according the the degree of benefit they recieve from government investments in human capital, infrastructure, security, etc.

Can we get an update on how all of our great advice is helping?

I'm doing great, actually. In fact, I've only had water for my liquids and a lot of it. Been reading to my kids at night (fun stories for the little ones and more business-like stuff to my older ones), creating new business opportunities in the evenings after the time with the kids, throwing out or giving away toys that aren't being played with, clothes that aren't being worn .. just tidying up the life a bit.. I feel a business run coming on again .. :)

or better yet, get yourself one of these

Pretty soon you'll have all sorts of wonderful images to share with us

and there's an APP for that too!

Thanks for the response. We only slightly disagree, slightly.. (which means you're very close to being right) :)

I was thinking maybe you could take up "Paint by Numbers" but that can get sort of messy, so here's a better idea:

or do puzzles - those 3-D puzzles are pretty cool. But they can get messy too, and take up too much space, and pieces get lost.

Better just stick to the Color by Numbers sets.

I know I'll regret sharing this, but here goes .. about 5 years ago I had sold my largest company and I would have a lot of time on my hands. I wanted to find a way to clear my mind so I could see things anew for the next chapter. Somehow, when someone showed me the largest puzzle in the world ('Life'), I decided to tackle it even though I don't do jigsaw puzzles. Almost 14,000 pieces, iirc, and about 5.5'x13' in size. Took me 4 months to complete and I cussed myself everyday for starting it (I'm a finisher, so I couldn't just stop). I have to admit, though, looking back, I'm glad I did (family interreaction, mostly).

If your wife lets you out of the house in the evenings, take up a martial arts class. That's one thing I wish I had the time for.

There's a link, it just looks like regular text.

Why haven't you taken up fly fishing yet? As for another idea, start taping "The Best of The Joy of Painting" on your DVR and watch it in your spare time. I bet your kids will watch it with you; my 5 year old daughter can't get enough of her "paintin' shows". We've watched maybe 50 episodes together, and each one is uplifting and awesome. If I had time, I'd learn his technique.
